  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The Beef's G70

...While in Toronto (Aug 2018)...I had a tester for 24 hours. Drove the living shit out of it 😜

^ ha. reason #11 why i'd never purchase a demo vehicle, or an ex-rental/fleet vehicle. if i was into leasing it might be an option, because i'd care less about how the vehicle was treated before me and how that would impact long-term ownership, but that's not me.

Damn. I'd be pissed if someone took a car and put 1,000 miles on it and then didn't buy it. Yeesh.
So the full story is I was geared up to buy a 2.0 sport, and then I asked to test drive a 3.3t at the end of the 2.0 test drive.... Lol Liked it so much they leant it to me for the weekend as the financing didn't go through for someone else who wanted to buy it. It was a dealer demo to clarify here. So I had it all weekend driving around Atlantic Canada literally for two days straight getting to know the car (I ended up buying the same car in SI) and would have maybe bought that one I was driving except when I came back to return the car and discuss numbers they told me on Monday morning (this was now late Monday end of the work day) the original would be purchaser came up with basically a wad of cash to make the financing work and they were going to accept. No harm done haha, I didn't look like a douchbag who just racked up the miles and didn't buy, and ended up getting one anyways later on. Sort of worked out. Anyways this little experience at minimum completely sold me on the car and the service. I glossed over the fact that I would be pissed if someone racked up 1000 miles on my would be car, but he screwed his financing up so F him lol.

Actually...in Canada...they have dedicated testers. Is that’s what you drove?

As far as I know in Atlantic Canada all testers are demos and available for sale at any time. I had options of buying brand new, demos with 50km to demos with typical km.

Also, I did end up with a demo, but it was a Genesis Corporate demo shipped from Ontario to NS. One of the digital marketing leads or something like that had the car. Found her business card under a seat one day and it was a PITA to switch Genesis Connected Services from her name. The car itself I tracked the freight shipment. I like to think best case scenario for a demo and Genesis locally just wanted to get me in a car and have me stop racking up km haha (please don't enlighten me lol).

My plan is to sell...and make money off the lease. I have 6k miles in one year...but that’s forced (enjoying new ride, etc).

I bet after 3 years...I’ll be at ~14k miles...very attractive.

Lease is 30k.

Move the money towards my next G70!
That's smart. I could definitely keep the miles off of mine if I drove my SUV more often, but it's just too fun to drive. I come home, and just think of reasons to go places so I can go back out and drive it haha.

I lol'd at this sentence. (y)

Believe it or not...I have not set foot into a dealer yet. But I am at 1 year and 6k miles...so time for my first service. That means I have to take my JB4 out for the first time...LOL. That's easy peasy.

So my app cannot schedule an app't. I cannot do it via website either. No idea why. No biggie really.

So I called them. I tried to setup an app't. Earliest is Dec 9th. But they said since it's a Genesis...I can just show up and they hook me up immediately...no app't. Wow. So we are off to a good start !

I then asked 2 questions. Fully synthetic? and car wash? I am leasing...so I don't really care on the oil...and car wash is good by me. Yes was the answer to both.

They said they will come to my house...or I can come in...Genesis loaner to both. I'll just go in and wait.

So without actually going in yet...so far so good in my book !!

I'll post my experience once it's all done.

Interested in how this turns out. Was playing around with the App and I could not set up an appointment either. Just gave me an error and told me to call the dealer directly.

A little surprised you haven't gone in yet. Aren't you supposed to do an oil change every 6 months or 6k miles (whichever is first)?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Perhaps...but I highly doubt my oil is rancid after a year...LOL. I know it is synthetic from the factory. I'm good.

I just ordered a year supply of Wix oil filters and Penzoil Ultra Platinum. I'll be doing my own oil changes. I need to get that crappy dealer installed non synthetic out immediately. Ugh

Hope it works out for you at least.

Interested to see if they vacuum your car. They forgot to do that on mine, but they also gave me shyte oil so... Haha.

I constantly touch up my interior...quick vacuum and remove all dust. Oh and a quick Norwex on all the glass. But I’ll know if they did or not...I’ll sprinkle some Cheerios before I go in.

It’s fully synthetic from the factory...100% confirmed.
After factory fill is what I meant. Dealers in Maryland I've talked to use dino oil and refuse to use synthetic.
