  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What mpg are you getting?

93 octane is currently 2.70/gal @ COSTCO here in MI, but I'm not sweating the cost either (after 10 years of driving Corvettes).
Enjoy,

Yeah, our gas is super cheap, even when it's over $3/gal. Must of Europe pays close to $6. Of course, their roads are in better shape too.

I've been tracking my gas mileage since I got the car. My main issue is that I'm not getting what the cars system is telling me. I'm 5% to 9% lower then what the car tells me. Using Costco premium. Anyone else getting this?

Does your car require premium?

Yes, that's been reported by others, including myself. My BMW's readout was always very accurate, so I was disappointed to find this.

The car-computed gas mileage in my G70 has about the same accuracy as that in my 2008 Corvette: optimistic by 5% or so, which seems about the same as my wife's Outback.

Drove to in-laws on Wednesday. 180 miles includes total of ten miles of city driving at beginning and end. Highway was free flowing and cruise set at 68-72 per conditions. 87 octane. No AC. One rest stop on the way. Eco mode 80% of drive. MPG was 40.3 indicated.
No refuelling.
11 mile city drive while there.
Retrace route on return.Traffic troubles with five minutes of sit and wait on highway and rain and generally less efficient drive.
Total drive was 371 miles, 36.1 mpg indicated. No refuel yet.
2L RWD. This was my first trip of some distance, use the drive options, see what would happen.

This is very helpful information, thank you. Good to know 36.1mpg.

Is eco mode really that much better than comfort mode assuming you're not driving like a maniac?

Besides maintaining lower RPM's for efficiency you get the "coasting" function which can help. On the negative side (to me) the steering becomes the lightest of all the settings.

I was in Custom with Eco driveline and Sport steering. I could certainly feel the coasting when I drove, more so in town.

@tarhoosier I'll have to remember those settings. Likely would be good for long road trips.

Refuel today, same station, same grade as before trip: 32.8 mpg actual vs. 36 indicated.

This may be a situation related to the previously noted relatively short distance from the low fuel warning to empty. If the computer is optimistic on mileage then it may consider your remaining fuel to last longer than actual experience has shown.

Had 2 hours of stop and go traffic this morning....13 MPG :(
I’ve only had my 3.3 sport G70 for a short while but have been watching MPG. Did an hour trip this weekend and was showing 27mpg. Around town seeing 15 to 19mpg. I’m only 8 miles to work. The odd thing with these Genesis engines is mpg. My Infiniti G37 had a 3.7 V6 instead of turbo 3.3. Around town and to and from work I rarely got less than 17mpg regardless how I drove the Infiniti. Highway wouid easily be better than 25mpg. You hit the throttle on the Genesis and it drinks gas for some reason. The fun factor way exceeds my Infiniti so mpg trade off is acceptable.

oh yea, I really dont care about mpg. I know what I bought, I know how I drive and Ive set aside gas money in my monthly budget accordingly. 13 mpg would be hard to stomach every day, but I kind of posted it more as my 'worse case scenario' for gas mileage

I'm tracking (according to the car) at 14.9mpg. I've had my 2.0T less than a week. Is it something I'm doing? Punching it too much? I have used the remote start about 20 times. I was driving in comfort or sport and now I am driving in smart. Will the mileage inch up after a while? Right now, I feel like the car is a gas hog.

My BMW 4 seemed to never need gas..
