  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Aftermarket Exhaust options!

AWD and 110mph
Ya you got plenty of room for improvement. If you can get the trap up to like 116-118 you got 11s for sure. I trap 112 rwd and run a 12.79 as a best for far. My 60 foot and 0-60 are horrible haha

I don’t think I will be able to get much if any improvement on the launch unless I do the brake snip mod and brake boost. That 12.4/110 trap was on one of my best ever 60ft times (1.88) and 0-60 times (4.2). I have trapped higher around 112-113 when I‘ve had crappier launches and 2.0 60s. Those runs usually end up around 12.5. I’ve only done a few runs though so far and haven’t experimented with manually shifting. Are you running a JB4?

Ya I am. Map 3 e30 mix. I can’t beat a 2.17 60’ and a 4.67 0-60.

Gotcha. I’d imagine RWD has to be tough to hook with all that tq on Map 3. My run was on Map 2, but there were great DA conditions. The problem with the AWD isnt traction, its that the factory launch control is way too soft and conservative. I just cant justify that brake snip mod given the potential risks and the signal it sends to the dealership.

Ya it’s not worth it at all. I think my alt was 2200 and my DA is like 4450 so definitely not great for getting every ounce of power out of the car.

12.7 is quite respectable at that altitude!

Ya it’s not horrible that’s for sure. I’m hoping to get new tires for my new wheels I have at home before January 17th for the next speedway night

I wonder if...

You shift at 5600 based on what I've read from 1-2 and 2-3, then let the car shift 3-4.

Time the launch while watching the turbo gauge and when it peaks. I've read that if you hit it at just the right time, you can catch a bit more boost and a better launch.

Long shot here - switch to eco mode during the run to turn off AWD? I think eco mode has less resistance.

Just ideas... take then with a grain of salt!

I have no experience racing automatic transmissions...all prior projects had been manuals, so I am willing to try some experimenting to see if any manual intervention makes any difference. Thanks for the ideas

I really like my aftermarket exhaust but, I really love this exhaust. I can't ever see me putting out $4k plus shipping for a exhaust. I still cant believe I spent $2k.

I'll have to record my exhaust sound again as things have gotten a little louder. But...I'm considering downpipes again, so I may wait...

Primary? I recall you got the secondary downpipes installed and welded in your own secondary cats... I’d like to do the secondary downpipes.. hows the difference in sound and performance compared to oem? Probably will do catless secondary DP’s.. still pass emissions? No sensors on it I believe.

I like the sound of the JUN BL as well. Sounds really aggressive.

You reminded me to share an updated clip of the RES. I finally had time to record clips of the valves open and closed.

I ended up removing the HFC's from my secondary cats, because the exhaust shop did a horrible job welding them, they began leaking, and I figured I'd get them fixed (ie removed) when I had a guy fix my exhaust tips.

But yes, catless secondaries does nothing to the emissions in terms of what the ECU can see, so it won't change anything except for reduce a little backpressure and increase flow, though the gains, apparently, are minimal..
