  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was in for my 18K maintenance on my G70 today and my service advisor warned me not to get this Recall because it already "fried 2 systems."

T11G -

Edit: the title to include the update version.

Dunno, the only info I had was in an email I got in my original post. I actually downloaded the MapCare update myself and was going to do the update myself a few nights before I saw the recall. Glad i didn't....

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
FWIW, we've done a bunch of them without issue.

Hmm....I think the service advisor mentioned something about it to me, last week. I'll be there around noon and I'll ask.

I got my update SD about a month ago, but haven't had an opportunity to load it yet (no long trips). I think I'll hold off until there's a resolution of this potential issue...
Enjoy,

Yep, understood. :)

Maybe I can update my OP to include the version now to avoid. I'll do it now.
Just wanted to give a heads up.

I love my G70.
You refer to this as recall. What was recalled? Do you mean updated?

I see ZERO recalls on my G70 when I go to the Owners.Genesis site also...

If it's just the map/infotainment it's pretty hard to screw up...

looks like the newest map update and the dealer tech can't follow directions, probably did not start the car like he is supposed to, left it in ACC mode and it timed out and turned off the vehicle during the load.

I had a routine service Monday 01/06/2020. I was unaware of the "recall" After waiting considerably longer than usual I asked about the car and was told there was a "recall" on the Nav.
While I can at a glance see some new "features" I'm unaware of an actual change list to learn what's new.
Since the update, my radio screen no longer switches to maps at the normal 10 second time. It stays on the XM screen. I've tried changing it to anything else, but the results are the same. It does nothing. A small enough feature, true, but one I enjoyed and want back.
Is the reference number (19-01-44G) a date? i.e. January'19, if so why was it just installed?

I had my navigation updated last Monday to version NAM.12.47.44.510.105.4 while they did my scheduled maintenance. No issues here...

To be helpful to all involved present and future:

Everyone please go here and register. You can check the versions, look at new features, and if you have a "Genesis" Genesis can get the updates for free on your own time....MnSoft | Hyundai & Kia Map Update
Thanks - never knew about this before. Have now registered and will be checking out map version. Much appreciated MrM
