In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Official 0-60 & 1/4 mile thread

I’m thinking the green / black wire is the IBU wire on the brake switch. If it is would be great if we could find the right connectors and make a jumper connector like we did with the 02 sensors.

My thoughts exactly!

I could pull the connector off the brake switch but the knee air bag is in the way and I can’t see very well but it does have a green wire but can see if it has a black stripe. Getting too old my eyes are not what they used to be

I'll have to take a look as well and see if I have any more luck!

Well if it is these are the cars that use the same brake lamp switch so possible donor for the wiring connectors and could use the switch and dissemble and use the connector only to build the lead.

Tried the brake wire snip and that’s a big old NOPE. RWD and all I get is a big smoke show. Discretely soldering it back with a green shrink wrap and fabric tapping the harness back and no more for me.

Oh wow. So even with traction on...you cannot get a good launch at ~3k rpm? Or even slightly less?

ya it is instant spin. my idea is going to be to run the switch into my cab, get a good burnout on the box then turn launch control back on for the tree.

3000 rpm gets roughly 8-10 psi from my testing with it. my rears start spinning around 2k

Just a little power brake at a stop and the rears start to spin.

BTW the wire on mine was just solid green.

How are your rear pads looking with this brake snip?
fine for now i have only done one burnout to test and make sure i could.. since they i actually have the switch on to let the system work normally.

It would be cool to integrate a line lock feature to your switch, and roast with impunity

feb 28th will be the day i find out if it was truly worth cutting haha

oh dude i ran the car up to 4th gear and completely smoked the tires haha and it was sitting perfectly still the whole time

I did a quick test today and with traction control off not smoking the tires and building 8lbs of boost was able to run a 4.40 0-60 .05 sec faster than with no brake snip. Just not worth the hassle and smoking the tires off all the time.

you were able to get up to 8psi and launch before it started to spin the tires?

Oh it was starting to spin the tires and I released the brake and short shifted to 2nd at 5k

oh okay. I was like geez once I hit 5psi I pretty much start to spin. I tried a few more times and I think I’m definitely getting a stronger initial hit than the factory launch control. But I start spinning pretty quick. But I did best my street 60’ by more than a whole tenth

edit- just noticed it actually got my best 0-60 as well. But similiar results. 4.60 with that being .03 quicker
