  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It's finally happened - Valentine Radar is releasing it's new V1 Gen2 detector next week. Pre-sales are going on now at $499 - website up next week - $110 trade in value on your old V1

Some say it's the best detector. Most of the reviews / ratings say differently. I've never even seen one.

I have an old Escort in my car, but stopped using it - got tired of hearing it constantly going off with false alarms.

Newer models will now remember false alarm locations, some even use an online database of same.

A lot of false alarms are now caused by the blind spot radar from several (but not all) brands of cars. The best of the newer detectors can mostly filter that out.

It's back to being the best
Compared to the old V1, I'm sure it is. I'd like to see a couple reviews comparing all the top models.

Thing is, I'd never pay $500 for the radar detector. But that's just me.

I've been reading about that. That, along with grocery store doors - if it's not filtered out they are just too painful to use.
