  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Pricing (USA) Revealed

I went to their build your own just now, it was still pricing it at 73,995 for me. I cleared out my temp internet files and cookies and tried again, now it's $72,375. Lets hope the car isn't designed by the same people that run their web site.

The website is definitely screwed up. I usually use Safari on my MacBook but tried Firefox and still got the 73,995. I then went to a desktop that I never used for a build and got 73,995 when I used Firefox and 72,375 when I used Edge. I then tried it on an iPad using Safari and FireFox and got 72,375 on both.

I used Chrome for my experiment. This was on a laptop that has seen the original price, then the change, and now the change back (after flushing temp files). Interesting that other browsers react differently and are handed the higher figure on a first pass.

I was in at 71-72k... 74-75 is where i look elsewhere... might seem minimal but what was supposed to be top end at 65..... Only real reason i even want the 3.5t prestige is because it's the only package with the nappa "quilted" seats

Yah, it's an uneasy feeling. Some have said it's their genius, like they are playing 3D chess and we just don't understand. I suspect otherwise. I think its mire like we are playing a game of poker and they have a hand full of uno and math flash cards mixed in, and some of us think they are bluffing.

Hoping it's a website FUBAR, but even with that it doesn't give me a comforting feeling about Genesis as a whole. For those of us who are new to the brand, it sends a poor message if they can't get a new release right, especially since I'm getting such poor info from the dealer about whether they will even be allowed to keep carrying the brand. It's really some strange stuff.

I kind of agree. I really wasn't wanting to push past 65 as I can get a nice demo/used GLE or other similar SUV for that. I do want new and I love the look of the GV80. I want to drive it like most others do and if I like it, I want to go that route, but losing so much in the market makes the decision more important for me. If they are going to raise prices, I'll just have to take that into consideration.

Could be forex as the Fed dropped rates big and dollar is going down (against KRW) a bit

Doubt it since the Korean prices aren't and have never been equivalent to US ones.

Has nothing to do with it. They forecast X USD per unit sold in the US. If forex changes they lose revenue... Or gain revenue. But I may have looked at it wrong and as Korean won is higher per USD that would give them more krw revenue so prices could actually decrease in the US.

Given the massive hit to their production lines they are probably looking to make up a few lost revenue dollars this way....

That might pen out if they actually had a product for sale. As of today, this is all just smoke and mirrors still, and their smoke show keeps coughing out different numbers that have no correlations to reality. The price went out, then went up, then went down... but not for everyone. I don't think its genius in action, I think it's the opposite.

I looked on a different browser and saw the increase. Just so sad for a company to do something like this. They don't even have a decent store front to visit near me.

Are they just raising the sticker to allow for better discounts? Or are they selling out production capacity so let capitalism work in their favor? I'd not count on anything until one is sitting in a showroom with a sticker on it.

Same computer, different browser, different results. That's not capitalism, it's incompetence. I'm sure this will eventually get sorted, but it's not a good way to present their new flagship. Like using customers for beta testing.

I get the same prices on different browsers. Print out the lower prices so you can use them to start negotiations.

No need to, the lower prices are the ones that they announced in the press release. The higher prices appear to be due to a web site error.

Which price are you getting today on the top of the line model? Most customers won't know to ask the same question multiple times to get get a different answer. Kind of like changing gears , you expect when you shift into P, you get the same result every time. If you don't, you start to lose confidence in the whole thing.

Now I'm getting the lower price when I use Firefox on my MacBook but still getting the higher price using Safari.

No, I have it set to automatically delete everything and also did it manually to make sure. Each test consisted of doing all the steps 5 times. Earlier today it gave the higher price all 5 times and now it gave the lower price all 5 times.

Whether the price is higher or lower, how will the effect what you do now, before the car is even available. If it causes you to question the cars reliability then I assume you are not reading this on any os platform that has any bugs. If the difference in price makes you want to run out and buy another car, then that is what you should do.

Earlier today meaning before you cleared the cache? What browser?
I doubt they are working on the code today.

As mentioned, I'm using Safari, Firefox, Edge and Chrome in my testing on a MacBook, Windows 10 and and iPad.

Earlier today meant when I did my initial tests. The steps in the test were, open browser, clear everything (history, cache, web site data, etc.), do the build.
