  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

Hey everyone - Just wanted to pop into your forum and mention I'm a fan of these first and second generation sedans. They look great and the mods you've done make them look fantastic! I've been on the G70 forums for well over a year and always head straight there but now I realize I've missed out on some great OG knowledge!

Cheers and thanks for sharing!

Installed the ark gts springs
Did this lower the car, if so, how much? Does this improve handling?

Years ago I had a '97 Toyota Avalon that was low, I was always bottoming out on speed bumps and just about anything more that 4-5" high. Got so frustrating I sold it and bought an SUV.

If your G80 is 5.0, do not get GT-S springs.....the front will sink in ~1.75 inch and you will bottom down often. I know this from my own experience. The GT-F springs are the one you want. Mild drop ~.75 inch all around.

Nice!!! I just covered my scratched pillar trim with some black vinyl DiNoc carbon fiber trim covers. I wished that I knew that the stock pillars could be polished since I like the piano black trim look also. However, the black carbon fiber pillar look does help my Genesis stand out in the crowd.
Good job on bringing the trim back to life.:)

Here is how my DiNoc carbon fiber pillars look on my dirty Genesis. LOL.The trim even feels like carbon fiber when you touch it.
Would you be kind enough to share where you purchased these? They look GREAT. Did you have to trim them to fit or did they come pre-fitted?

Was looking at these exact same wheels for my car, before settling on the ones I got now. Really like the design and that shade of bronze!..but wasn't sure how they would look with my Parisian Gray color.
They sure look great on your blue car!

I bought them on Ebay. I do not know the exact seller, but a quick search will give you some sellers that sell the vinyl pillar covers. The set I purchased fit perfectly, so no additional trimming needed. However, it is tricky to apply the vinyl correctly so that it proper aligned to the pillars.

Here is a seller.

Really happy with my new ride.
Today I installed LEDs instead of amber DRLs. I used powerful 1157s.

In addition, I shortened two connectors at the bottom, so bulb is always in full power. Only 2 wires go to the bulb, so it doesnt make sense to use 2 filament bulbs. Current is big enough so turn lights blink at notmal rate 🙏

Today I added an gripper steering wheel cover to the very smooth and sometimes very slippery steering wheel in my Genesis. I may have an upholstery shop custom wrap the steering wheel in better perforated leather for a permanent and better looking solution to the cheap smooth factory leather steering wheel cover. I will add an picture of the cover when it is daylight outside.

Doesnt that make the steering wheel super fat?
It does make the steering wheel thicker, but I like thick padded steering wheels over the thin slippery smooth one in the Genesis. I have large hands.

Here is my steering wheel cover. I wished it was a darker black color. It is temporary until I can get my steering wheel properly wrapped in black perforated leather. I bought a used steering wheel in good condition on Ebay and will just have that one wrapped by a shop. I will swap out my peeling signal stalk and wiper stalk as well since the steering wheel has to removed to change them.

Looks like you keep your vehicle clean.👍

Thank you. I try to keep my vehicle clean inside and out. The ivory interior color is hard to keep clean, but looks the best in my opinion when clean as well as the black exterior paint.

Most of my cars look and run like new when I trade them no matter the age.

A few days ago I uploaded couple of videos (first time ever) of my car, on my YouTube channel.
You can hear some V6 exhaust sounds of my recent setup and me fooling around, acting goofy. 🙃
No high tech equipment were used filming, just my cellphone's mic & camera. The exhaust doesn't sound as raspy in real life (as it does on the videos) when I'm revving in park, but you get an idea.

Sounds good. What rpm did you launch on the first run in the video? The first launch was fast.:)

Thank you. All launches were between 1,700-2,200rpm

Yes I agree. The Ivory interior is really elegant, and hard to keep clean. I try to only wear light colored clothes and not wear blue Jean's or any other harsh fabrics when driving. I think it makes a difference. I am with you about having all my vehicles look and run like new. I can hop in any one of my vehicles and not be afraid to drive across country in them.

What do you recommend/use on your Ivory interior? Also same question to carguy75.

I can recommend the following:
https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guy...sprefix=chemical+guys+leather+,aps,156&sr=8-5

https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guy...sprefix=chemical+guys+leather+,aps,156&sr=8-8

I have used this cleaner for a long while now and it is safer than the harsh cleaners you can but in the store.
I have been using Maguire's leather cleaner/conditioner. Seems to work well
I keep the interior very clean to begin with. I am very conciousness about the clothes I wear when driving the Genny. If you dont let it go too long between cleaning it makes that much easier.
