  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

Doesn't really matter to me - it could have gerbils running on a wheel inside the dash, just as long as the thing works as it should.

My understanding is that having some of the computation offloaded to the cloud would allow it to do more things at an acceptable speed - extending it's useful lifespan... At least until it's time to trade!
Yeah I understand, I agree with you . Thanks for your input.👍

I love the looks of them old impala's. That's one hell of a ride . Coast to coast! Back in the day that's what we used to pull trailers. Cars or station wagons.
My brother bought it new. My nephew still has it. Engine and trans was replaced along the way. Brother had 26 cars at one point but whittled it down to about 8.

My grandfather had a '73 LTD Country Squire Wagon (complete w/ fake wood) with a 351 V8 that probably made all of about 175hp... I used to sit in the rear facing jump seat & play tail gunner and make weird faces at people in traffic - Good Times!

For sure! Did the same stuff. Buick wagon.👍

Disabling connected services: Map routing still works fine. On particularly complicated routes like navigating dozens of back streets it takes about 15-25 seconds to calculate a route. It's running at extreme system load (8-10) and probably won't get any faster.

Enabling connected services: Map routing works better. On the same route as above calculation time is just shy of 5 seconds.

My guess is they brought this out because they are reaching the limits of the older hardware. Even though the changelog for my version doesn't include it, I'm guessing it's actually there.
What's your thought on updating the nav Suburbazine?

It’s totally worth it. The UI improvement in the primary locations (map/media) feels like a more modern car.

Each processor core equals 1, while utilization can range from 0.xx to X.xx- where <1 numbers refer to less than full load, 1 = full load without making things wait, anything >1 means there's a line building up waiting for the processor to handle them.
Great info! I've used the top command on an HPUX system and never understood how to read those CPU load numbers. Mystery solved!

So how did you read the load on the car's radio?

Just updated the new software today on my 2016 Genesis with the standard radio.

I noticed that the cell phone battery meter that is on the top right of the radio display is no longer there.

Has anyone noticed that?

Yes, it's been mentioned in the thread.

I think someone said Android still displays.

No bueno. That is a nice feature. Why would they get rid of it? Apparently not even mentioned in the revision history.

After a few days of use I’ve found some serious bugs relating to audio routing. Text messages sometimes cause the phone app to hang, can’t make/receive calls without restarting the radio. Sometimes after Bluetooth phone calls the audio bus doesn’t hand off controls to the other apps- for instance media or nav can’t be volume controlled any more.

Troubleshooting suggests it’s a possible race condition failing due to system load from the new update. Will require Hyundai/LGE to fix, hopefully ASAP.
