  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Carbon Fiber Spoiler on Ebay

I will! Might take a while since I'm still deciding.

Unless you have something to hold the handles (if you completely removed them), if better to just remove the smaller piece and wrap the bigger piece first still attached.
Starting from the front edge (it usually fails here first due to tension) and work your way back.
Then remove the handle (should be easy since small piece is already removed but be careful with wires) and then wrap it around the back.

Do you have any issues with your lock/unlock button? I see that it was all wrapped in 1 piece
That's a good idea. I removed the entire handle and then began wrapping. I will probably message you if and when I decide to rewrap the handles and other chrome. Hopefully you've wrapped yours by then and can provide some insight in the best approach, since you have prior experience.

Also really interested in seeing how you tackle the grill.

Nope, no issues. It just requires a firmer push but operates fine. At first I could hear the wrap lift whenever I pressed the button but the adhesive has finally settled and no more noise.

Holy moly lol I just had a place do it and it was like $150 for pillars, spoiler install and front grill but on my old LEXUS.

For the grill, I wouldn't even try wrapping. I was looking for OEM black chrome grill (no luck).
You can try getting them painted or hydro dipped. There was a guy here asking about hydro dipping but I have no idea how to or how $.
There are a lot of ppl in Korea hydro dipping their grill with no loss in sensor functionality.
There's also ppl that claim that wrapping with translucent vinyl can still allow the sensor to function if you want to go with the paint option.

Whatever I do I just want to be able to do it myself. Feels more significant that way. I've seen that thread about hydro dipping but don't think thats DIY so thats out of the picture.

Vinyl on the grill seems impossible.

I'm considering plastidipping it with glossifier on top. I've heard the sensor still functions. Only problem is bumper will probably have to come off and I doubt that it'll last longer than a year given its a high impact area.

That's pretty cheap. Vinyl wrap?

Yes vinyl.

So you are all getting rid of the dark chrome?

I guess I prefer it 🤷‍♂️
Eventually, yes.

Honestly, I do like the look of the dark chrome, but black looks better imo. I would be okay with keeping it if it didn't pickup fingerprints so easily. It also seems like the dark chrome is just a film over the normal chrome, and many people on this forum have had issues with it spotting. So I'd like to protect it.

😳😳😳😳 I haven’t so far and I have 2 kids getting in and out often.
My Lexus has the same stuff on the grill and it has spots but they came off during washing.
