  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spyshots of 2021 G70 facelift

It'll be higher, probably much higher IMO. With the discontinuation of the RLX the TLX will be the new Acura flagship model. It's already large for a "compact" sedan and it's set to get much larger (~194 inches in length, compared to the G80 at 196 and the G70 at 184). I'd be very surprised if it MSRPs for less than $55k which is where the ancient RLX currently starts at. I fully expect the base model TLX to be priced at $~40k with the Type-S starting at ~$55-60k.

That would seem to leave quite a gap between the TLX and ILX, but you could be right about them moving upmarket to fill the gap left by the RLX. Even if that were the case, though, I'd put the starting price at closer to where the Accord tops of, maybe 35k for base?

PS: Beefer, this shall be my final Acura post.

Hello,

As I have been mourning the eventual demise of my Infiniti g37 with no apparent replacement, I discovered the existence of the amazing g70, and this informative site.

After driving a g70 3.3 Sport , it only a matter of when, not if to buy one. It is exactly what I am looking for (German driving car without the German maintenance).

Yesterday, I was shopping dealers in metro Atlanta, one dealer claimed no knowledge of 2021 arrival date or changes.

As I was discussing configuration and color another dealer told me that 2020 is no longer produced and I will probably need to order a 2021.

He also said that there was no changes for 2021.

I’m sure we’re all gonna love the car once it’s revealed in full detail.I just hope they add 3 key features to the next model! A rear power sunshade and manual side shades, basic ambient interior lighting and a handle above the drivers side door to grasp while driving normal.

I had a 2020 coming, but it got canceled. Covid came into play. Not a certain date, but dealer said October for 2021's to arrive. He too wasn't clear as to upgrades, but thought that new headlights and maybe dash display changes are likely. As for sheet metal, probable but lower odds. Same engines though. Oct. was also the new date when the new GV80's could be delivered. Was supposed to be now (June.)

Your dealers aren't wrong. The USDM will still get the same model for 2021, while in Korea they'll get the new facelift/refresh for 2021. The big changes will come for the 2022 model year for us in the states.

Interesting list. Do you live in a hot area? None of these would be something I need but I get it if your in a hot area!

Curious why you would want a handle? Isn't that what the steering wheel is for?? LOL

Yes I’m located in Pennsylvania and it gets hot down here. As for the handle thing! Just when I’m in relax mode driving, I relax my elbow on the top of the door near the window and grab on to the handle for support. My Old 2012 Genesis 5.0 had one, so I’d figured a sportier sedan should have one also.

What?!?! Everything has been pointing to the facelift for the 2021 model! What do you base this on?

Because the car is release to the KDM and then 8ish months later the USDM. And since it's not out in Korea yet but probably will be late this year or very early next....

New interior shot...

Well, I hope you're wrong. If you're right, I'll probably go to the new Acura TLX instead. Not gonna wait another year for it.

HVAC controls look the same. I was hoping for vent status info on the controls themselves, and not having it populate on the main screen like it does now.... Unless I'm missing something.

Maybe that's just a chassis mule or something, because that interior looks almost exactly the same except for MAYBE a bigger screen. It'd be ridiculous if the refresh G70 didn't get some of the features that are already circulating in Hyundai models.

You really have to squint to notice any changes at all. I can't even make out if it has the digital cluster or not.

Yeah all I see is black, but it could just be the angle.

Personally, I see nothing different. I'm sad that there is no difference to the AC system layout and controls. I really want the new unit with the extra controls and gauges.

I feel like they focused more on the exterior then interior. Not a fan of the fact they didn’t change a whole lot like recent refreshes Hyundai has been putting out. The only thing I see is the big screen that more then likely will be smaller then the one in the G80, and those buttons on the steering wheel.

those buttons on the steering wheel.
Which isn't exactly a positive... The determining factor of whether or not I trade in my car for the refresh eventually will come down to the powertrain, which seems to be the $100k question.

I hope they're not going to try using touch capacitive buttons on the steering wheel...

One of the things I like about Hyundai products is their non-stupid approach to ergonomics, and I get the sense that other reviewers feel the same. I had a 2015 Civic SI in the few years when they removed the volume knob and replaced it with a touch-sensitive slider, and it never stopped being annoying.

Some things are better kept simple, and I've never once wished my steering wheels controls in the G70 did something that they don't do. I don't need the ability to chance the volume level by swinging my johnson in front of the center stack in a certain direction, I just want a damn volume knob.
