  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First Valet Service

That's what I'd do.
AFAIK all repair services are done by your local Hyundai service shop.
Folks have been complaining how inconsistent dealers are Expanding to use local Hyundai shops is sure to make matters worse. Genesis will have even less control.

As we all know, most Genesis vehicles are STILL serviced by Hyundai shops, or combo Hyundai/Genesis shops. That includes my ‘12 vehicle. No $500 oil changes needed.

I am just curious to know the percentages (estimates) of the the Genesis car owners who actually are using the valet service since the birth of the brand.
I bet Genesis knows the numbers and my guess is probably not very big simply car owners do not trust the dealerships in general.
I for myself live near or within 10 miles of a couple of Hyundai/Genesis service shops so driving to get a simple oil change makes sense to me besides there are no 20 something kids molesting/racing my car on the highway on his way to the shop.

If I was still working I may have tried it. An Accura owner at work had his car picked up and dropped off and the driver was an older guy, not a kid. Retired, I have the time to go have a coffee and chat with others in the waiting room so not a big deal to take it 20 minutes away. I've been offered a loaner but the paperwork is probably as long as the service.

Since we all pay for it up front, I'd rather have a few bucks off the car rather than valet service but I'd want a loaner for long time warranty work.

I've wondered who our local Hyundai/Genesis dealer uses as valet drivers. When I had a BMW, they also used older retired guys. I used their service quite a bit when I was working, especially since it was about a 40 minute round trip drive on the highway, even from work, which was closer to the dealer than my house.

My dealer uses the salesmen.
