  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

updater says need something over 30 gigs for sdcard but i used a 30 gig one and worked fine

My first update came on a USB and the SD card was 16gb but this time, the update came on a 32gb. The download was 23gb so you should probably buy a 32gb if you're going to use the download version.

Update attempt #1 with the downloaded version failed. The update button on the settings screen is grayed out even with the new SD card inserted. Anyone else run into this problem? I have a 2015 Ultimate running the original late 2014 version of the software.

Sounds like you need usb stick.

My first update was like that. Mapnsoft sent me a sd card and USB stick.

Do you know what was on the USB stick? Just for fun, I'm going to try duplicating the contents of the SD Card to a USB stick and inserting both just to see if it helps.

First update to a 2015 ultimate the update button is grayed out and requires s usb stick. After that the update button is enabled. I haven't tried the new free download since I recently bought v14 which came with both the usb and the sd.

I would think you can copy the sd to a usb stick and try it. Insert both and see if the update button is enabled.

They took down the download again... probably because the installer is messed up. You had to install the Korean region but in English and then go into settings and change the region to North America.

They're probably trying to fix that... lol

Edit: Looks like you can still download it from the Korean website. Wonder if that was always the case... we could've grabbed it there instead of waiting all these months... LOL

Thanks for the suggestion, but that approach didn't work. There must be something different about the early version's upgrade process.

Just updated. The graphics look very nice and overall I think performance has improved. Android auto is the best part of the update

I updated using the SD card they sent in the mail a few weeks back and again today using the download.

The initial update had a problem where map would be blank if zoomed in more than .25 mile scale. The problem resolved with the downloaded version. I’m not sure what the version numbers of the two software files are. It appears that they fixed some bugs.

I used a 32gb SD card to download the update. The downloaded failed a few times last week but worked today. The downloader program may have been updated too.

I have a 2015 with touch only 8” Navi.

I had good luck both times I have updated my 15 Jog Dial.

I just tossed together a quick video on how to get the updates from the Korean site until the English downloader is back online

Here's the current updater client. They have the same client for both KR/EN. Web devs are just being lazy and dropped a popover on top of the download button. Update requires an SD card that is LESS than 32GB in formatted size, since the head unit update utility doesn't know what to do with bigger partitions.

A while ago, the English site was actually letting you download the software then sometime last week, the pop up came back. My guess is because the installer was too confusing for people to use because it won't let you install for other regions. Only Korea. You have to change the region after it's installed which caused confusion for a lot of people. They probably took it down to fix the software installer. It was a total guess that I stumbled on the Korean site. Figured if they used standardized country abbreviations, the URL must be /KR... LOL
