  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

How did you paint your calipers?

I want to paint mine a gold color, however trying to decide should I remove them to paint them or paint them on the car. Removing them seem to be the best option to fully painted them uniformly, but more work for sure.

I painted without removing them. Taped the area I didn’t want to get paint on. I took my time and applied 3 coats.

Cleaned and conditioned all leather and "leather wanna be" materials in the car using Chemical Guys leather cleaner and conditioner. I think it does not look too bad for a car that has 81k miles... ;-)

Also, spent a couple of days in the woods with the family:

Thank you!

Absolutely. I drive 33 miles to work each way everyday and do appreciate clean interior. Makes the commute much more enjoyable.

Thank you. His name is Milo and he is a good boi (most of the time )

Milo looks Happy!!🙂 I totally agree with you. I keep all my vehicles clean like that. Like I said its the only way to have it. Its nice to talk with other people who appreciates such things. I know a guy with a 3 year old Denali Duramax that is so filthy and stinky I will not ride in it!😝 To each is own , but WOW!! Spit cups in console, half eaten Sandwiches on the floor..

Tell me about it! I have 2001 Audi A8L with little over 240k miles on it and trust me, it is much cleaner that some of the 1 - 2 years old cars. And I yes, to each their own but some people take it to another level

Yes Indeed, If anything I take to the other level as far as the cleaning. In the winter my Genny sits inside a heated Garage attached to house. I jack her up and wipe down everything underneath the car from springs to drive shaft. Love My Genny!! I have a 1000 mile road trip planned this weekend , I feel Like a little kid waiting to get behind the wheel. Such an Awesome Automobile Through and Through!! 240K on the A8? That tells me how well you take care of your things/Autos!!👍

I also agree, I have a 2019 XT4 and a 2018 G80 Sport and every other weekend I clean each car, inside and out. Just gave the XT4 a complete detail, G80 is this weekend. To me that is my relaxation, keeping my car clean.

Oil catch can last week. Since no one makes catch cans for the DH I decided to fit a universal one on my 3.8. The catch can is a universal ebay one but I was actually very surprised by the quality of it. The only issue I had fitting it in was finding hoses that for the barbs it comes with. I had some free time today so I stopped by home depot to buy a 12×24 in piece of sheet metal and build a heat shield for my intake. Anytime I check under the hood after a long drive the intake is burning hot.

I love all my Chemical Guys stuff. I'm pretty sure I'm single-handedly keeping them in business! Innerclean, Leather 1 Step, Citrus wash, Bug and Tag remover, Wheel cleaner, Tire shine, and just a few months ago, Medium clay bar, and Liquid Carnuba Extreme Depth with X Seal. I think I've forgotten a product or two. Hah! Also, shout out to the paint quality on these cars, my '15 Empire State Grey after that Wax/Seal looked better than most new cars!

THANK YOU!! Nobody I ever say that to seems to get it! Keeps me Zen, even if I happen to find a new blemish thanks to others incompetance/lack of give-a-shit... I really need to vacuum all the popcorn out of mine from our road trip last week...
