The Genesis sedan is a large, quiet, comfortable car, which is what I wanted. It also looks darn good. The infotainment system is relatively simple to operate, and includes good old fashioned buttons instead of everything controlled by touchscreen or capacitive touch surfaces, which makes it easier to do simple functions like adjusting things like the temperature or heated/cooled seats while driving. You can get great used deals on them, and maintenance costs will likely be cheaper than a used German luxury car.
While the sedan is a great car for what it's designed to be, it is not a sports car. The ride is well controlled in the corners, but it's still tuned more for comfort than firmness. I've heard that the coupes are a lot sportier, but I've never driven one. Despite being both called Genesis, the sedan and coupe are completely different cars.
I recommend evaluating what you want and driving several cars. Do you want a large car with plenty of power for everyday driving and slightly-spirited drives on back roads, or do you want a sports sedan or coupe with tighter handling? Peak horsepower numbers aren't everything; factors like torque, power delivery (e.g., does power peak at low RPMs or high RPMs), tires, suspension, transmission tuning, weight and weight distribution greatly affect on how a car drives. The only way to know what's right for you is to drive several cars.
Lastly, if you decide on a Genesis, I recommend researching the differences between trim levels and model years. 2015 uses filament bulbs for the DRLs (white high beam bulbs on the halogen headlight models, amber turn signals on the HID headlight models), while 2016+ uses LED strips for DRLs.
Android Auto and
Apple Car Play are only available on the base audio/navigation system in early years (and after a software update). These became available on the premium navigation system in later years (around 2018 IIRC). The easiest way to tell which audio/navigation system a car has is to look at the center console; the premium system has a rotary knob behind the shifter, the base system does not. Starting in 2017 or 2018 the Hyundai Genesis sedan became the Genesis G80 (same car, different name). I recommend searching for both using online search engines to ensure you see all listings.
Whatever you decide, good luck!
