Oh boy! Sorry to hear about that. At least they have the roof and will get it fixed. Hopefully there is another dealer close to you. Fortunately I have 3 Genesis dealers within 40 miles of me. My dealer this far has been great and seemed confident they could handle the fix. Fingers crossed. My dealer ordered the sunroof replacement and has it, but Genesis says a Genesis dealer has to replace it, they can't farm out the work. So now they are trying to find a dealer in the area that does "body work" to put the new sunroof in. So I continue to hear the rattle. I was amazed that they heard it 1st time though, I was waiting for the "don't hear anything" response.
See if your dealer will let you get some pictures of the disassembled car? Let us know how much your butt puckers when you see the interior gutted and your windshield out? A full replacement based on some others here has a 50-50 chance of really fixing the problem and it not returning? Good luck. I’m hoping if mine starts having issues in the future that any replacements will be redesigned so the problem can’t come back. I think based on how many folks have had issues this is a design problem. My dealer ordered the sunroof replacement and has it, but Genesis says a Genesis dealer has to replace it, they can't farm out the work. That's funny, because my Genesis dealer farmed it out to a shop that only does sunroof work, installs and replacements. My dealer ordered the sunroof replacement and has it, but Genesis says a Genesis dealer has to replace it, they can't farm out the work. Ah, good to know!!!my Pano was replaced twice due to this rattling, and it came back a third time. Dealer decided to outsource to a glass shop the third time, rather than do it again themselves.
the shop found a few issues. First that adhesive used to hold the rear glass in place was "faulty" same as the windshield TSB/Recall the G80 had where the adhesive would work free in extreme hot or cold. The glass shop used something different, no issues in 16 months now.
the second issue was the wiring harness that runs inside of the headliner, again adhesive that held the harness in place detached and the harness was flopping around, The glass shop secured with a different adhesive that had a stronger hold in high heat, that pano glass gets HOT sitting in the sun in 80-100° summer sun and whatever glue Hyundai used couldn't stand up to the 130-150° temps the glass was hitting.
note the third time the unit was not replaced, just properly resealed. replacing the entire unit was pointless as it wasn't the unit at fault but the adhesive they used on the preassembled part.
They did not do anything to my interior. They just dropped the headliner. Pro shop did the install. It's the inexperienced Genesis dealers that are doing crazy stuff like removing the seats and pulling out the front glass.See if your dealer will let you get some pictures of the disassembled car? To get the headliner off I think you have to remove a number of the interior pillar panels at a minimum. With the headliner sitting in your way surprised they had room to do much work? I was only going by what others had said was done to get access to the sunroof required full removal of the headliner which required removing the windshield too. Your pro shop probably is smarter than the average Genesis dealer regarding all this? They did not do anything to my interior. They just dropped the headliner. Pro shop did the install. ah, that is interesting. Makes sense. My seats were down, and that is how they did it, but they did make a mess of my headliner, and it never went back precisely over the passenger side B-pillar, even got a new B-pillar, but the problem is the headliner goes up a few centimers too far, so there is a several centimeter gap between B pillar and headliner, not pretty. Plus. headliner was and pillars were pretty smudged up. Genesis had to pay for a interior detail, and there was stiull some dirty parts left over that I had to take care of. Not fun, and I am super hesitant to go back for anything big. Genesis dealersneed to WAKE THE f$%k UP and treat the customer like a merc, bmw, infiniti, volvo, etc. dealer, instead of like a hyundai experience. It's bullshit. And then they get their hackles up when you complain. Makes me mad just typing this. Genesis has a long way to go in terms of customer treatment, We are STILL getting the GD hyundai treatment and frankly it freaking sucks.proper documented procedure is to remove the rear glass not the front, my dealer showed me the service manual documentation on it. the headliner is NOT to be folded to be removed due to the power sunshade, the read glass is supposed to come out so the headliner can be fully removed from the vehicle during the installation to prevent damage to the headliner and associated parts.
my seats were never removed, but the head rests were and the seats reclined back as far as possible to allow room to drop the headliner.

The headliner noise remains banished (thankfully), but now it's definitely the sunroof itself doing the creaking. It's been cold the last couple of days and that must have exacerbated it because today it was tapping and creaking something fierce. That's too bad, I know what you mean. Squeaks and creaks were the main reason I decided to trade my 2014 335xi in on the G70. The constant noise drove me crazy (along with the numb steering and sloppy suspension, haha).
Good luck. My G70 headliner was strangely silent this summer. Shrug.
