  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have an 09 4.6 w/Tech. When I plug my iPhone into the USB port a message appears on the DIS screen saying " Connected USB device is not supported". Has anyone else experienced this and, if so, how did you get around it to play music from your iPhone?

Are you using the iPod cable?

I think he means a display on the iPhone itself. I always get that nag (Device not supported) with a question "do you want to go to airplane mode"?

Clicking no does no harm and all works well. But the question is ALWAYS asked.

Ah, yes- mine says same on iPhone

Selecting either Yes or No on the iPhone will work, but saying Yes will put the phone into airplane mode (no wifi or cellular). Obviously, if you want to run Pandora, Slacker, Last.fm or any other streaming music service, you'd want to say No to the prompt.

There's no way to automatically dismiss the warning, and in general, that's a frequent warning from non-certified 3rd party accessories, especially those that were designed for earlier models of iPods (as the Hyundai cable was). They still work, just with the warning.

I usually just ignore it since the iPhone is already working. Best part is, when I get a call, the iPhone automatically pauses and the call comes through the car.

I was using the iPhone USB cable. I bought the special Hyundai USB cable and it works fine.

Thanks.
