  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2022 G70 Now Available to Build

Those red seat belts nail it on the head on how brutally hideous it is (overkill on the red I mean). PUKE.

Still missing a sharper edge where the hood meets the grill.

Learned nothing from the video...other than variable exhaust (awesome)...and that they have a few tricks up their sleeves. Meh.
I would like to see a dealer network before I see "a few tricks"... just saying! Meh x 2.

I've been really looking forward to the refresh of the G70, but if Genesis USA really decided to omit the digital gauge cluster from our market when literally every competitor and even base Hyundais have one, they've probably lost me. And I adore this car, so that's painful to say. I do think it may be an error in the configurator though, as these are pretty basic images. It does also mention in the webpage for the car that there is an "8 inch digital gauge cluster," though that number seems small to me based on what it should be? Not sure, but see attached screenshot.

That said, I'm absolutely thrilled they're allowing an interior color other than black to be configured with the Sport package now. Also, I noted that if you configure the car in Black Forest Green, the brake calipers are painted light gray which looks amazing!Screen Shot 2021-03-04 at 11.20.58 AM.webpScreen Shot 2021-03-04 at 11.17.02 AM.png

Track Test? Seems more like a commercial that Genesis paid Motortrend to publish.

I wonder if all the sports will come with those red seat belts.
I agree! The red seatbelts are on the Sport models with the black leather interior and the red leather interior.

That green is sexy! I feel you on the 12.3” 3D gauge cluster! This is the one we want!

the green/sport has come with silver calipers (instead of red) since 2019. they wanted to avoid an unintended "Christmas Edition"...

I want the new 2.5T engine. More power and better gas mileage! If the Stinger gets it, the updated G70 should get it too.... can't see why not.

Someone else wrote about swiveling/adaptive headlights. Does the G70 not have those now? Not getting them in the update either? Thanks in advance..

The full refresh will have both new engines.

The G70 has had self-leveling and adaptive/swiveling headlights from day 1...which I absolutely love BTW.

Thanks for the reply.

If you are talking about the complete redesign of the G70, I would think that would be like 3 years out? Can't imagine they would do this refresh for 2022 and do a replacement any time before that, gotta get their money's worth on the refresh.... happy to be wrong.

The 2022 is a mid-cycle refresh. They messed with the exterior a bit...but the interior is 99% the same. Same engines obviously.

My thought is that the 2024 will be a full refresh...perhaps 2025. I cannot foresee it going later than that as the car would essentially be the same for 5-6 years by than.

Who knows...they may have done the 2022 to align with the exterior look of the other models...and a full refresh is set for 2023 ! :)

As far as we know, no. None of the new Genesis models seem to have swiveling/adaptive headlights. The LED lenses seem to be "fixed". In Korea, the G70 has the matrix-type lighting which I'm sure we will not get. :(

^ yes. but then why'd the '22 Stinger get the 2.5T and not the '22 G70 mid-cycle refresh? i can't see the '22 Stinger being called anything more than a mid-cycle refresh...unless i missed something. everything i read about the Stinger indicates minor content updates. it's actually kinda odd that they'd go with the new 2.5T and not the 3.5T as well since the 2.5T closes the gap considerably to the 3.3T.

I love my 3.3T but with the gas prices skyrocketing I was planning to try the 2.5T but unfortunately no engine refresh. I'm not confortable with the "new look" either, front is too rounded and rear lights are not symmetrical. Bye-bye Genesis.

Having seen the new 3D cluster looking at the old one irks me. Not being able to get the red interior (Maybe for the initial drop?) outside of the launch edition is bogus to me as well. I’ve been waiting for this car since i was suddenly back in the market but now I’m not sure.

G80 and GV80 have the 12.3 in digital cluster on the 3.5 engine and prestige trims. If the g70 doesn’t have it on the 3.3t prestige trim, I’m out. I put in a reservation request today and the genesis concierge called me after to go over next steps and they said they don’t have full details of the features yet. But honestly if they don’t have that 12.3 digital cluster for the highest trim, I might just be out

What set up did you put the request in for? Man I’m skeptical. I went back and looked again and I’m thinking it won’t have it. That’s what they have for the G80/G70. Although the picture of the G70 looks like it’s the 3D cluster. Might not even have the huge HUD display as well?

The pictures they have say non US model shown which is annoying, I put in a request for the 3.3t RWD sport prestige package. HUD display was clearly stated as a feature of the prestige package when I was configuring so that is there for sure. If they don’t have the digital cluster I might just wait for the new C class because that interior is absolutely gorgeous. I’m also considering the gv70 but if the digital cluster is only on the 3.5 prestige that is probably going to be out of my price range since I’m guessing that will be around 60-65k USD

So I guess either the 12.3 cluster ends up being on the g70 3.3t prestige package once the US features are finalized or im out, I may still go and test drive it just to see how it feels and if the drive can convince me, but how is it 2021 and you can’t even get a digital cluster even if you you shell out top dollar? Like my 2016 civic has a better digital cluster smh
