This. The transmission behavior is neutered by engineers for longevity reasons, from what I understand. It can shift faster, and it could be programmed to shift at redline. It's an in-house build in order to save money. In typical Hyundai fashion, they will likely iterate it to an extremely competent level, this is the first generation, so it's going to have issues. Complaining about this is not going to change it, only the timeline of revision that Hyundai has specified will do that. I have no doubt it will be iterated until it is more than good, just like they do with everything. The qualify and performance for this generation of vehicle 1st gen, 1st year, is /was amazing, and light years ahead of just about what any other maker could have done, imo. And I complain about this car a lot, trust me.Fair enough. It’s just that your RPMs and shifting point was a little off, so that definitely threw people off your initial point. Along with explaining what a transmission is to people already on a car forum
Yes, the transmission is the weakest point of a very overall strong car. But it’s definitely due to transmission tuning, something they could fix or iterate on. Along with tuning companies like LAP3 now able to adjust things like launch control, the future is bright for the G70
