  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Too Many Genesis's Around Here

Here in Calif I've seen 4 in the past 3 mos. When I bought my 2010 in Oct I never saw one on the peninsula in the bay area (between SSF and Palo Alto). Today I saw another one in San Mateo. Most of the ones I saw were 2009's. What a cool car

From the outside, you can't tell a 2009 from a 2010 except for the 2010 Tech which has a very slightly different front end. (lower grill has solid covers over the lower grill ends, to cover the radar used for the adaptive cruise control).

Are the '10's also getting the 2009 car of the year license frame? If not, then there's a 2nd method to tell them apart.

We see few here in Santa Clarita. Saw a blk one yesterday on the 100+ mile round trip to LAX airport.

Somebody in the building next to me just bought a new Genesis same exact color and package. Darn! I'm not the only Genesis owner in my local neighborhood. Here on the beachside of Fort Lauderdale I see 4-5 Genesis a day now. They fit in quite well with the over abundance of MB, BMW, Lexus and other luxury autos.

Looks like the Gennies are selling better in the warmer region.
Here in metro Detroit, I've seen 1 on the interstate so far.(since last December)

Just saw a black one parked downtown (Mt. Dora) with Maine License Tags.

Speaking of out of state tags, I think the whole country is here in Florida this March. It was bad enough since Christmas, but now in March, almost every tag I see is something other than Florida. Traffic is twice as bad as last month and four times worse than in the summer.

BTW, thw sucking sound you will hear on April first will be the sound of all the Snowbirds heading North on I-75 and I-95.

As always, the start of hurricane season is the end of tourist season.

you enjoying rarity?
Then, you better get a rolls royce phantom.

ps : Lexus are too many in road.

My wife really likes having the only one around here, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. We live in a neighborhood where you see all kinds of luxury vehicles. She enjoyed being the first in our neighborhood to own a Volvo XC70, and then the XC90, but within a year there were half a dozen others rolling around. Haven't seen another Genesis in the two months we've owned ours...and only once before....6 months or so ago. All for about one tenth the price of the RR Phantom (haven't seen one of those either...but have seen a couple Bentleys.)

Got mine December 29, 2009 and have not seen one since! I had seen about 2 or 3 before I got mine. I think the car is great and Hyundai just sent me a $100 gift card as a thank you for buying one!

If you live in the Chicago or Minneapolis/St. Paul area there should be some great deals on new 2009’s. The dealers have more 2009 models in inventory than 2010 models. I wonder if Hyundai is doing anything financially to help the dealers move the 2009 models out. If people start to realize that the prior year’s models are not selling, it will decrease buyer interest. It’s the psychology of no one else is buying I shouldn’t either. I have not looked at very many markets, but South Florida dealer sales look much brighter.

There are about 5 Hyundai dealers around, and there was 1 dealer that had 7 '09 Genesis' on their lot. I thought it was a great oppportunity to get better deals on them.

Hyundai is providing unpublished dealer incentives to boost sales.

Disaster,
I didn't know you were from Michigan :)
I'm in Sterling Heights, and work in Troy.
