  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Attached are the instructions for the Palisades. Michael from HI-motors was kind enough to send so I can see to the extent of electrical wiring that needs to be done, He said they are working on translating the one for the GV80 but it is very similar. It doesn’t look too involved and looks like a very well made and thought out kit.

thank you Mr. Shin, for the information!
Once my gv80 arrives. I’ll be sure to contact you directly. 👍🏼

Looks great , did the front mud guards need any alterations ??
Who makes those andwhere did you get them? I have Romik running boards on my Cadillac SRX and they're great, but they don't carry any for Genesis yet. I'm hoping to get a 2022 GV80 later this year.

I would imagine this is not something a casual driver could install on their own. You would have to take it to a mechanic shop to get it installed right?

I actually prefer this side step better than wingstep. This one seems a little more premium and has the LED light fixed to the top of the floor and shines light on the board rather than having an LED strip on the board itself like wingstep.

Would not recommend it unless you are very good mechanically. I bought the OEM GV80 side steps and had the dealer install them. It took three days. Not an easy install and it was their first. Added to that the lighting issue, and I'm not sure if it impacts warranty. At a minimum, dealer will try to fight issues based on the non OEM side boards. Just something to think about.

Old, but good! Just saying it's not a mud flap job, etc.

Where is the best place to buy the running boards? Gen1GV80 mentioned a place in CA but I reside in KY.

Bought the Sidesteps through the dealership. Be aware that I noticed that the price varies slightly between different dealers. I think retail is about $700 and wholesale is about $560 and takes about 2 business days to receive. I can get you wholesale prices if you want to pick up 45 minutes north of Los Angeles. My mechanic friend charges $250 for installation if anyone is interested.
Who manufactures those sidesteps, how wide are they, and and is there a weight bearing rating for them? Thanks. Manny F.

Does installing the electronic runningboard void warranty?

I have Romik boards on my wife's Palisade and we love them. I called Romik to find out if or when they will have boards for the GV80. They hope to have them available late summer or early fall. The problem has been getting a car from a local dealer long enough to make templates. The GV80's in his area are selling so fast the dealers for now won't release a loaner to them.

Just got my GV80 and have been looking at the lighted running boards from Hi Motors in Korea. Is that where you got yours? Did you have any issues getting them? How long did it take for shipment? Cost with shipping? Cost to get installed?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

My running boards are Genesis OEM and I bought them from dealer. They were installed by dealer and I'm pretty happy with them.

My father in law had factory boards on his. Seems weird to me on an SUV so low. They’re useless for entry. I guess more for cleaning or putting something on the roof?
