  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

I personally think the front is better looking vs. Gen 1 and the rear of the Gen 1 is better. Overall, I will admit this face lift version is an improvement of an already great car! Though I still prefer the boomerang!

don't like the GENESIS letters on the new trunk. when i bought my infiniti, that was the first thing i stripped off. i expect you'll see people debadge the new G70 trunk lid.

agree with Beefer, the new one is too roundy. i will admit the new front end, especially the grille, has grown on me somewhat. rear end, not so much. i'm still on the fence for the headlights.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
New G70 front end is too rounded and the grill looks like a cartoon smile. The rear of the new G70 looks like a Toyota Avalon. What they should have done is maintained the 2019 design, put in the new larger more luxurious screen, deeper/sportier exhaust, better and lower suspension, added the 2.5 and 3.5TT or even a 3.7TT, beefed up the auto trans to be a true shifter-style tiptronic.

Just my opinion.

Agreed on the boomerang, the new vent is mostly blocked anyway and looks a lot cheaper imo.

Agree totally. Wish the shifter would work like my Infiniti G37. New grill design on the 2022 is just too big IMO. I like the original design for its less smiley-like. I can live with the other changes and the 3.5 would be a nice upgrade when it hits. Still loving my 2020 3.3 though. It’s paid for and I plan to keep it a good while.

Hate to say it...but as I felt from the beginning...the new one is too rounded. Original looks way better IMO.

I do like the new grill...but those rounded lights...not a fan.

Best angle for the front is the full on face-on.

Problem isn't so much that the quad headlights are curved (actually like that as opposed to the flat/front ward facing ones in the G80/GV80), but the execution not as well done as for the GV70.

^ agree that head on...looks fantastic. Start moving to the side...and you realize how round it is...ick. Headlights look like stickers.

Yeah, Motoman is pretty picky, and he's one of the better reviewers in that he goes into the technical aspects of why something is so good, or not so good.

The 2.5T + wet DCT would be an awesome combo, but H/G would have to develop a whole new one for that as the one used in the N models is for FWD.

And he's also right that such a combo would force the 3.5TT into offering 420-450 hp.

Think it's one of the designs that looks better in real life than in 2-dimensional pics.

Motoman has a side shot of the headlights and it looks pretty good there as well; it's the 45 degree shot where it starts to fall apart (at least in pics).

Sarah's look at the undercarriage may be more in depth than what SG does.

Thanks for posting that. She's actually quite a good reviewer. I like that she noticed some unusual things, such as the double ball joints on the bottom of the front spindles. That was the first thing I noticed when I had mine on the lift.
That interior trim is called "engine turned". I didn't know Genesis was using that on the new models.
