I replaced mine for both reasons, actually. I ordered mine from Korean Auto Imports (I know, I paid too much, but I was getting a bunch of other stuff at the same time). They are not all that speedy, but I have found their stuff to be first rate. The badges they sell are OEM, not the phony stuff you see on eBay (not everything on eBay is phony, but some of it is).People replace the badge because it looks better, it was the original Genesis badge, or both.
Why do some Genesis sedans have the Hyundai "H" as their badge on the trunk, and some have a wing-like badge?
So I know their are Tabs that break off I guess when you pry it off the trunk. Where do those pieces go or do they just float around in the trunklid?I got both front & rear badges on e-bay $29 for both includes shipping. It took 3 days to get here. They arrived in KIA / HYUNDAI factory sealed bags sith Korean writing on it.
I also found the badge for the steering wheel for $12 ...(yes I've seen the entire airbag replacement with the factory Genesis wings on it and it looks fantastic), however I'm not gonna' buy that for this leased vehicle. I refrained from putting the front bange on the hood, as the car looks so elegant without it. Titanium Gray. I can always put it on if I change my mind.... and remove it for that matter. For those considering replacing the rear 'H', heat it up with a hair dryer then get some fishing line and 'lightly saw back and forth' behind the emblem, being aware that there are 2 small round posts that go into holes in the trunk lid, then pry behind the emblem gently with a credit card that you don't mind getting bent. Work your way around the circumfrence of the "H" and it will come off in one piece.... I will want to surrender mine when lease is up... just in case. The glue residue rubs off with minimal effort, follow up with 'Goo-Gone' or similar adheasive label remover. Wash and dry area & wipe with alcohol to remove any wax and your new 'Wings' will adhere firmly. (They come with 3M brand foam tape attached, just peel of the covering and stick-it-to-it. It was really kind a' fun!
