If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 aftermarket brake pads

Hello Everyone,

I need front brake pads and rotors replaced for 2019 G70 3.3T Sport AWD. After doing some research, I've decided to go with:

R1 Concepts eLine Series Silver Zinc - $226.54

I'm confused which brake pads I should get. Steering wheel shakes when braking.

My priorities for brake pads are:

1. No noise, No squeal
2. Durability

I am not sure which brake pads to get. I want to try something other than OE. I wanted Akebeno ProACT but not available for G70. My choices are:

1. Hawks Performance Ceramic (PC) brake pads
2. G Lock GS-1
3. Anything else?? EBC Yellow/Red series?

Please help. Please recommend.

Thanks

What is the part # for Euro sport pads ?

Is 58101-J5A55 ceramic or semi metallic "Euro" sport pads?

Can anyone please confirm if the above part # will fit in front Brembo caliper for my Genesis g70 3.3T?

Front part # 58101-J5A55, rear part # 58302-J5A55. These are the "Euro" semi-metallic pads. Zero issues since installation, other than they do dust a lot. Think German sport sedan dusting. Zero noise. They work exceptional during high performance driving conditions.

Thanks buddy. I contacted Genesis parts to order these. The price is $530 USD for the front.

He said my car's VIN # shows different part# for front brake pads.

I will go ahead and order these pads. Thanks again.

What do you think about "R1 Concepts eLine Series Silver Zinc - $226.54" for the front?

I had the same issue when I ordered my pads, my VIN showed a different part number...and that's because they're looking up "stock" pads, not the Euro pads that are available on other G70 models.

Here is an Ebay listing for the front pads, for $111.82 plus $35 shipping from Latvia. Buy with Paypal for buyer's protection. You'll get your money back if they're incorrect.

I’ll stick to the OEM brake pads, I had EBC red stuff on my 5.0 they were okay, my 3.3 dynamic edition pads are way better. I’m tempted to get the HPS 5.0 but I feel they might be a downgrade.

^ if you have the 3.3 Dynamic, you have the Euro pads. your trim and the 6MT trim got them. all other trims get ceramics. i agree: stick with what you have.

i can't understand the crazy prices from the dealers on the Euro pads. they are not an exotic or rare material. semi-metallic pads are very common. i've heard a few guys talk about the cost. in post #164 captain says $530 USD for the fronts. that is nuts for a set of pads.

if anyone orders those Delphi pads that BadTrain posted let the group know!

I ordered front pad 58101-J5A55 from Hyundaioemparts.com
  • MSRP:$530.73
  • Discount:$159.22 (30% off)
  • Sale Price:$371.51

I ordered front rotors from R1 Concepts. R1 Carbon Geomet Drilled and Slotted $250.58

I also paid $18.04 for R1 Brake Hardware Kit

This is my first "Fun to drive" car. G70 is drop dead gorgeous in White with tinted windows. The amount of "attention" I get. The amount of heads I turn is just crazy. Girls/Women just LOVE this car. I absolutely love this car. I really want to get this brake/rotor vibration issue fixed .

Hopefully the above rotors/brake pads combo will fix it for me and I won't have to worry about fixing it over and over.

I will update once I've installed these pads/rotors.

Thanks everyone for help.

I found a website that carries the euro $530 front pads for a lot cheaper then the hyundai and Kia part sites.

The part number is the same and run $177 😍

Those are the crappy pads. They should be giving them away - for paper weights.

Yeah needs to cancel ASAP, not trying to stinger my self off the road 😬🤣😂

anyone used the EBC Yellowstuff pads? Or HPS 5.0/Plus over the euro pads?

Figured I’d throw this out there. In an attempt to resolve my brake shuddering issues I tried API “posi-met” semi metallic pads from partsgeek but they ultimately did not fit in our calipers (even though they said they were for the g70 with brembos). They were a mm too big. I now have the dynamic friction pads to try out but I doubt I will be able to get to them for another week or so. Once I install them I will provide an update.

Curious, a mm too big in what dimension?
