It was more out of curiosity. On a new car it doesn't tell you whole lot. On a older car, if there is gas or antifreeze in the oil, you know something is not kosher and you need to fix it.

As a part of my 100,000 mi service, I took a sample and sent it to blackstone. The silicon is a bit of a head scratcher. All previous changes were done by the dealer so support an extended warranty, so I don't have a baseline on the car. My air filter is a Spock-eyebrow-raising spotless and afaik the long block has never been apart, and no engine work was in the service history. edit: spelling
