  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Shoes

The DWS tires are pretty popular and well regarded. I have P Zero summer tires on 19" rims on my Veloster N. I bought a set of Rial Lucca 18" rims with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires as a second set. This last winter I had the car up on four jacks stands with my Genesis Coupe in the driveway with a set of Winter Force 2 tires on it. I do detect road noise from the GV70 OEM tires which I do not like. My Pilots are quiter than the P Zeros, obviously. I do like reading about other options and opinions from other owners.
with the new tires are the sidewalls bigger ??? if so would ride better and fill the wheel well better

On the contrary I'm glad my leased GV70 S/P came with the Primacy's and not the stickier summer only tires. Primacy's are rated for more miles and are a great tire. Unless your driving at 8/10ths all the time in the corners they are fine. And I guarantee they are going to be better in the wet and snow.
I’m pleased you’re so confident. To each their own I guess. I have nothing bad to say about Michelin’s Sport line of tires. They all rock! The primacys? Not so much.

Yes, I wanted the 18" rims and the all season tread so that I could drive the car year-around. A number of people, especially in States like Pennsylvania with third-world roads, broke their 19" rims on the Veloster N forums. The dry handling is great! This second set takes the harshness away, should survive better and gives me more confidence in poor weather.

Piazza at Limerick. I have bought several cars from them. I bought my Veloster N and the GV70 from Brandon Daub. My daughter bought her Tucson from him.

The second tire / wheel set I bought from Tire Rack.

Update: After driving on these for 1200 miles, my observation is that The Continental DWS06+ has improved progressively in stability and adhesion to the point that The GV70 is a corner carver with these tires! If you purchase these, hold your conclusions until after 2000 km’s.

I want to end this update by sending my thanks to Albert Biermann for the suspension geometry and set up of The GV70. You are brilliant! God I love this car!

It is good to know the suspension is setup to handle stickier tires. The average buyer likely does not care, but better tires also add additional safety.

Lionorion…
Did you make changes to your suspension setup? Please enlighten us. Thanks.

The Savile Silver with the Sevilla Red is stunning!

That's what I have on order! The 2.5T test vehicle here was black/red Prestige, and there was a silver/[something] lower trim parked there. I figured silver and red could work.

I wish more dealers would post their sales pics with shots that include both interior and exterior (e.g. driver's door open, shot from far enough back to see the door behind). When I was trying to find the combination on cars.com (? -- or something), I don't think I found any.

Looks like Car & Driver feels the same way I do, this is a screen shot from their recent review of The GV70’s sister, The Stinger:

makes zero sense unless you want to blow money to replace good Michelin tires on an SUV but hey.. many people have money, time, and storage to burn due to the COVID.

Thank you TBickell for clearly showing everyone on this forum that you have brain damage! After all, there’s now 37 posts on this thread, and you still feel the same way! I guess I should write you off…

In closing, please refrain from participating in any further posts on this thread, since you contribute nothing.

Not a fan of the graphics, but the sound that engine makes is Mad Max exhilarating! And if anyone doubted about what I said about being able to lay down the power, let this speak:

Snow Driving Update:

Honestly, I’m not sure if the excellence of the tires or the GV70 is to be credited with my snow driving observations, or the harmonious confluence of the four tires working in concert with the GV70.

I was in “Snow Mode” for all of these observations.

That being said, this car is a magnificent vehicle to commandeer during inclement weather. The handling and stability are so superior over ice, snow, and compacted & rutted frozen glop, that other vehicles seem to be crawling!

The stability control is dialed in! (Once again, danke Herr Biermann❤️) The stability control on The GV70 is really remarkable, keeping the GV70 in its lane, even when cornering on compact snow/ice!

The ABS on the GV70 is also remarkable! I didn’t have to pump my brakes once. Even on a decreasing radius turn in the shade! (albeit, I was going slow and gently;) When braking on ice in an aggressive manor, I felt the stability control keeping the front end pointing straight and true! When applying the brakes on rutted snow/ice in a gentle smooth manor, the ABS doesn’t even engage!

We purchased this car for driving in inclement weather, and as a tool for that, The GV70 has performed beyond my wildest expectations. The GV70 is a special car, and I’m not talking short bus special. It’s really a transcendent homologation of all of Alberts know how, combined with inspired design, and a love of the cutting edge that South Korea insists on.

My only regret is my beloved GV70 is covered in salt, and it’s too cold to go to a touch-less car wash, so I’m putting my faith in the ceramic coat until I can get all that crap off my baby!

Here‘s a pic:

As an aside, where are my mud flaps? 🤣

TBickell, I want to apologize for my response to you. Any way you slice It, it doesn’t read well, and it was rude.

Additionally, I actually miss your banter. So if you ever feel like adding your two cents, I am interested. ☮️
