Don't get me wrong. I'm glad HD is an American company but the bike is just made for looks. They aren't very fast or practical and don't have the best maintenance records. Those who ride them are either not too educated or executives who want to look mean for the day. Maybe someone on this board who owns one can voice an opinion--
Oh, i hope you're not opening a can of worms here. Harley vs. sport bikes?
I like bikes myself. Never owned one but always drool over bikes whenever I see one.
I like all sorts of bikes, from sport bikes to cruisers... well, not too much into dirt bikes though.
IMHO, Harleys are more than just a slow bike with loud exhausts.
It has style, history, and oh lord, the exhaust sound.
If all you care is going fast, then yes, the sport bike will be a better choice for you. But I'm sure it's not going to be as comfy on longer road trips as the Harley.
Those ignorant stereotyping of Harley owners were totally unnecessary, btw.
You wouldn't be too happy if someone says that those who ride sport bikes are either uneducated lowlife punka$$es or dorks who want to blend in as 'bikers' and try to look cool, now would you?
Last year at Bonneville a stock Honda (1000cc) when 190 mph. The fastest stock Harleys go about 130 - 140 mph.
why do everyone want to make the genesis to look like something else? it's a beautiful car as is, a car has to have it's own identity..just except the fact that it's a great Hyundai Genesis and enjoy driving it.

Because the look and anyones face after you tell them it's a Hyundai is priceless.
Putting stuff like M or other non relevant stuff to the model or brand is not right IMHO but wings with the Genesis word is how the manufacturer meant it to be. I do not think anyone here knows the reasoning behind not using the wings in North America except maybe to say "Look at the nice stuff we (Hyundai) build" Afterall, they are working extremely hard to kill the old Pony disaster.![]()
That is in fact the reason. The Genesis (and later Equus) are being imported as Hyundai branded vehicles to "build the brand," which has been the HMA mantra for the last 2 years, and is likely to stay as the mantra going forward.I do not think anyone here knows the reasoning behind not using the wings in North America except maybe to say "Look at the nice stuff we (Hyundai) build".
Something tells me you are Asian, and perhaps Korean. Hyundai does not have such a great reputation in the US as many of its competition, even though recent Hyundai cars are quite good. Certainly, the Genesis is in a totally different league with anything that Hyundai has sold before in the US.why do everyone want to make the genesis to look like something else? it's a beautiful car as is, a car has to have it's own identity..just except the fact that it's a great Hyundai Genesis and enjoy driving it.

Guys--the individual that bought this car is a trend setter, an entrepenoire,
a leader, a chance taker, someone that wants to be different, a believer in value, someone that wants to stand out from the crowd.
Do you actually want to put M's, 460L etc on your cars? To me it screams "I want my car to be like a BMW or a Lexus... but I couldn't afford one". Be different! Be original! I recommend the use of the "R". No one else uses it. I settled on "R46". If you are a cool guy I will allow you to copy me (for a small upfront fee).

Those who ride don't care about being politically correct. We stereotype all the time. It fun. Your statement doesn't bother me. If you told a Harley driver what I said, he would probably laugh. Those who ride bikes are a different breed. We all share danger. It's a good comradery. Try going to a motorcycle forum. It filled with humor... and disrespect--![]()
Actually, Volvo is quite well known for their R-spec editions. I think the best solution is to simply put a bumper sticker on your Genesis (on the opposite side from your "My kid is an honor role student" sticker) that simply says "My other car is a <enter name of vehicle you wish your Genesis was here>."
A coworker of mine rides a sport bike, and he also told me that all bikers respect each other.
My apologies, flyboy. I obviously didn't get the joke and thought you were serious.
