  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you pay for your new Genesis GV70?

I am planning on purchasing a GV70 as my next car and visted the dealership who gave me a pretty good deal on my trade-in for my Stinger. That being said, arent the new car prices also inflated right now too so ultimately if prices go down in future as supply picks up to the demand, you still paid more than you should have? What are your thoughts? I am not the most familiar with the economy so really would appreciate your thoughts!

Right now it's a sellers market so yes in general we are paying more. Usually people never pay MSRP but today because the market for most cars are tight (limited inventory) paying MSRP is more of the norm. Now having said that dealers need cars so again depending on the model people are getting more for their trade ins (or selling privately) so for many it could be a wash.

Down the road is going to be interesting there are a lot of new cars sitting at the manufacture waiting on computer chips if and when these manufactures suddenly get a boat load of chips we could see a flooding of the market of new cars.

Has anybody had experience shipping a car from out of the area? At this point I’m considering any options to find the right spec somewhere sooner than placing a custom build.

I got a quote for shipping from Palm Springs CA to PA and it was $1800, in an open carrier. The carrier is, of course, responsible for any damages (rocks, etc), but who wants to be without a new car for.. who knows how long. I decided not to buy it there.

Bought one yesterday and they were all (7) marketed up $5k and I got it $2,500 OVER msrp and go straight to a bar and drown my buyers remorse. Never ever imagined paying sticker let alone $ above sticker…I don’t even recognize the guy in the mirror today, but that’s what happens when you see that Brunswick matte green and Vanilla beige for the first time! It was delivered on Friday into the showroom and I bought it the next day. No buyers remorse 😋

I got a bit more on my BMW trade in and they took my offer. I would have loved if it had the Prestige package but I was buying this! So no hud and total virtual speedo which was the only thing I wanted in that package. I asked while they were writing it up how much for that package cost and realized I just saved $5k…yikes!

The only thing I’m worried I’ll be bit$hing about on January 14th when it’s 20 degrees in my garage and I’m hand washing that damn matte finish 🤪
Fyi, used car are in high demand. My 2020 Highlander platinum I paid 47k and 11k miles later sold to dealer for 46k..watch out of trade-in. Try kkb to see what they will. Offer you. Talk to dealers that offer for your car. You can see how they fight for your used car... Do carvavn and a few dot com.. Fyi

GV70 3.5 top spec unusual color combo $71 otd

Sticker minus $1003 on our Sport Prestige 3.5.

Was sticker MSRP? Any Trade-Ins?
Sticker was MSRP. Trade in was 2015 Cadillac SRX, but price was the same regardless of trade. Our biggest dealer here(almost all brands carried-Genesis and others) posts their "today's price" on a mirror tag. No negotiations and trade price is also non-negotiable. They came in a little ($500) short of KBB on the trade, but we came out WAY better than 90 miles south where Milwaukee dealers are adding $5k upcharge over MSRP

Paid MSRP ($64,4xx).
One of my employees is good friends with GM from local Hyundai/Genesis dealer, so that didn't hurt...
Traded in 2019 Audi SQ5 (for $4000 over my 10-day payoff quote).

Just spoke with my cousin at the Chevrolet/ Toyota dealership. They are getting 5K over sticker on any Truck. Up to 20K over sticker for a Corvette. Toyota is also getting a premium over sticker.

I asked him how long this shortage of vehicles will last, he stated the experts saying in "Two Years" they feel they'll be back to 75% of normal!!!

I paid MSRP for my GV70, feels like a bargain. ;)

MSRP @ Genesis of Corona

Interesting, 36 GV70's for sale, by far the most I've seen available at any dealer, with (1) 2.5T version, and (35) 3.5T.
24 S/P of the 36. With those numbers, surprising they're still at MSRP. The world is upside down

36 GV70"s? I wonder if the count in person is different than on the website?

Generally, I have found surfing dealer web sites, that is the Monroney window sticker is available to see on line, that the vehicle is in stock.

Any other message regarding the status or availability of the window sticker usually means it's in transit.

There are 11 near me at one dealer but they want $5,000 over sticker.

23 total within 30 miles.

I’ve contacted literally ever dealer in Ohio about a 2.5. Only one was asking over MSRP, the rest are not budging above or below. Inventory is pretty much nonexistent on the 2.5 but hoping mine will arrive in January.
