  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Other cool cars like the G70

Yes you can. There is a Canadian company that’ll give you 50 hp for just over $1k.

Apparently musk has allowed it.

The cars get over the air updates…but apparently the tunes continue to work.

Interesting. Had no idea!

What would be really interesting is if aftermarket companies started making replacement components in electric cars. Upgrade to a 1.21 jiggawatt inverter and you'll hit 88 mph in less than 3 seconds.

😇

Yeah! I didn't know that @Beefer - I watched a YT video a few months ago and they mentioned Tesla's could not be tuned or altered at all but I guess they were wrong! That's pretty cool.

New here and just got a 22 G70. Do you have FSM info on how to pull radio from dash and which are the speaker wires? Trying to add amp to base radio as no amp in trunk to splice into since no Lexicon. Thanks.

Yep. Send me a DM with your email

I'll believe it when I see it lol. Not even the folks at Lexus Enthusiast have said a word about this, and they're always on top of the news.
Like I said, you heard it here first. 56K for the IS500 confirmed!

Still trying to get out of new member status so can send you a DM. Got pretty much all the stuff I need to do the stereo upgrade.

Motor Trend ran a 3-way comparison between the TLX Type S, G70 3.3T, and CT5-V. Guess which they put in last place.

Interesting comment about the G's body roll. I find my 2020 pretty tight. I wonder how the CT5 and the G compare on the slalom. I'm sure it's out there, but admittedly, I'm too lazy to look. Of the cons about the G, I find this one a bit off base.

And although they do mention value, that Caddy does sticker out a lot higher. If I was looking to purchase today, that difference with what you get/don't get with the CT5 isn't enough to pull me in. Though as I say that, the domestics tend to offer some sever discounts. No clue if any discounts will be available here.

Is there anyway you can send me that FSM as well. I am trying to figure out how to wire an amp. My 2022 only has the base audio system. Thanks!

I got to take my buddy's Giulia Quadrifoglio on an extended test drive on Saturday, and let me tell you the reviews that praise its handling are spot-on. That thing handles like it's on rails, and the steering feels directly connected to the steering wheel in a way that I haven't experienced in another car; perhaps the Honda S2000 being the exception. This steering felt like a go-kart's steering or something. Despite my friend's urging, I didn't really push it too far as I was on unfamiliar roads and honestly its capabilities lay far behind my abilities as a driver (on a public road), but it felt like it was in a groove.

On the flip-side, he got to drive my G70. His first reaction was he kept making remarks about how nice the interior was, and how good-looking the car was in general. He also drove my car (lol a lot harder than I ever have to be honest) and was very impressed. We agreed that the Giulia handled better but the Genesis was more comfortable, and not far enough behind in the handling department that you'd miss it too much. I'm not saying he was going to trade his beloved Giulia in for the G70, but he was very, very impressed with the G70.

And then I told him the MSRP and his mouth dropped.

Very cool. I've always been a big fan of the QV. I wonder what's next for that platform. BMW has stepped it up with the new M3, so now it's Alpha's turn.

It's one of those cars which likes to be pushed to the limit, and frankly I'm not sure if it's entirely happy if it's not being pushed. For example, it's got HUGE METAL paddle shifters that feel amazing to the touch, and my buddy uses them all the time . I have had paddle shifters in three cars and I have probably used them a handful of times in all three cars.

On the negative side, at one point I'd gotten on it a bit and proceeded to back off a bit on the speed (to coast a bit in gear) and the car started "lurching" a bit, kinda like back when you were driving a manual and weren't on the throttle (sorry I don't remember the RPM or gear, but it was probably about 40mph. When I gave it more throttle it was happy.

I'll start by stating: I cannot afford an $80k car...
BUT, I think the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is probably the single sexiest four door sedan available today. with performance to back up its looks!

BUT #2, you have this:

I can't afford an 80K car either lol. I know about some of the issues the media vehicles had and frankly I wouldn't spend my own money on one of those things unless a) I was a much better driver than I am, b) money was no object to me, and finally c) I had a fleet of other cars to drive if this one broke down (and he definitely has other cars he can drive, though one of those is an Alfa Romeo 4C, which might defeat the purpose of having a backup vehicle lol).

Orthogonal to any of those points, I paid special attention to the fit and finish of the vehicle, body-panels, etc, and it was very well put together; I'd argue the body panel gaps were more consistent and less than on my G70's trunk.

My 2019 Guilia was a living nightmare of reliability issues. Wasn't a QV but it was so sexy and .....Italian like in the color combo I had. Hated to get rid of it but I got tired of it being at the dealer all the time. Even in 2.0T trim it was impressive when it was working165D5975-3355-494F-81D9-D96E30FB6C68_1_201_a.webp73E43427-7CC7-4437-8C13-F8FC76606253.webp
