  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Got it from a very good source today that Hyundai is "forcing" any dealer who wants to sell the Equus, to have a dedicated area, just for the Equus. Dealerships are getting ready for construction to change their showrooms, to seperate the Equus from other Hyundais. When I made the statement that Hyundai "should" include the Genesis with the Equus in the dedicated area, my source said that as far as he knows, it will only be for the Equus.

(I guess we know how we stand with Hyundai.  )

One step at a time. Given that it requires new space, and other conditions, we have already been told that not all dealers will even sell the Equus. Since all dealers currently sell the Genesis, that would be a problem on several fronts.

Another problem is that the Genesis Coupe is not a luxury car, not even an entry level luxury car.

In due time HMA will figure these things out.

Very true. Makes one wonder though what was going through Hyundai's mind when they produced two different cars, (Genesis Sedan and Genesis Coupe) that are so different from each other, don't look like each other, set up different from each other, and the only thing they have in common is the name Genesis.

Also Equus will bring a customers that expect more from a dealership than current Hyundai owners in many instances. For example if you have not been in a M-B, Lexus, or BMW dealership give yourself a treat and walk in. Look at the space, the customer waiting lounge which typically has complimentary beverages, food (sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit etc.), multiple televisions, internet computers, and even in some instances machines that allow you to hit golf balls, pool tables. Of course this is in addition to automatic loaner cars.

Before some one says its in the price, of course it is, but my oil changes with my LS Lexus only cost $ 65.00 with all of the above. The Genesis Sedan should also be moved to a seperate facility IMO for the same reasons. The more people spend on a vehicle the more amentiies are expected.

It's just like staying in hotels, Motel 6 and Red Roof give a basic room; Marriott ups the features with toiletries and better furnishings, Four Seasons, Pennisula, Ritz-Carlton go even further with what is included and the level of service. The more you pay the more you get, it's called Marketing.
