  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2018 G80 Sport - In the process of replacing the passenger side view mirror because one of the diodes in the mirror was “burnt out” or something I’m not sure other than it was purple. (See images). The dealer is going to replace the entire mirror (Under warranty) which I’m completely fine with but during this process, they ordered the mirror and realized it wasn’t painted. Then sent the mirror off for paint but painted it the color of the car (Casablanca White) based off the VIN not realizing that the Sport models have black mirrors. Also claiming they do not know the color code for the mirror because it’s not attached to the VIN??? So a body shop representative had to physically go to dealer look at the car and confirm/find out what the color should be. I haven’t had my car in weeks and won’t until the beginning of the year, very frustrating. So the final questions:
1. Has anyone ever seen this “burnt out” diode before
2. What is the paint color code for the side view mirrors on 2018 Sports

I don't know if it was me, I'd press the dealer to get it right and fix it under warranty, like they should. It shouldn't be your burden to figure it out.

These Gen dealers are not very impressive. It's a big issue...

Odd that the 2018 G80 Sport Casablanca White as black mirrors.

The sticker on the drivers door shows paint and trim codes. I'm not sure of trim code is trim version or trim color code.
For what it's worth, the paint code for my BLACK 2018 G80 Sport is
PAINT T5K
TRIM RSS

Mirrors have been vinyl wrapped. You could get both done in 2 hours.

Black vinyl wrapping is a great idea. Talk your dealer into doing/paying for this in lieu of painting. Consider some parts of mirror assembly (inside behind glass mirror) may not be easily/readily wrapable.

When the mirrors become marked up over time, replace vinyl and they'll look like new.
I clear filmed my mirrors at purchase. At 45K miles they looked a little beat up. I had them re-filmed and they look factory new now.

Paint code is EB. I've ran into this before.

Hyundai/Genesis use EB as paint color for all black trim pieces that don't have any metallic in them.

Do they not know that it takes a quick phone call to get the answer?

I bet their paint dept knows the code off the top of their head. They just don't want to deal with it.
