  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Test drove one tonight - impressions and a question

Generally speaking, are the 2010 owners basically happy with the rear suspension? Have most of the early issues been resolved? From what I've read, Hyundai is not planning on making many changes to the 2011 suspension.

I do not understand why Doug725 is so angry that he feels he must lash out at people that enjoy the car and life in general.

I feel sorry for him and I hope that someday he finds happiness.

I agree Rocky, but also do not know his reasons for displeasure in life. Anyway, I'm one super satisfied 2009 (build date 12/08) 4.6 owner.

Hi Boca, most everyone is basically happy with their cars, and there are no early suspension issues, just people who say such things because they are not basically happy with their cars. Hyundai isn't making changes because there is nothing wrong that needs to be changed.

Go drive a car and find out for yourself why it has so many glowing media reviews and why there are so many first-time Hyundai owners.

I can only speak for myself, but I am extremely well pleased with the suspension. Mind you, it is firm like a BMW not soft like a Lexus or Cadillac. So you will have to make up your own mind if you like it.

I test drove the V6 twice and had no idea of any suspension issues until I started the forum review. I thought it drove fine. I am planning on giving the V8 a try as I am already spoiled with the power of my G35 Coupe and think the V8 with Tech is a super value for what you are getting. My only concern is that the Tau V8 has not been around long enough to prove it's overall reliability compared to the V6. By the way, I have found the members of this forum to be super helpful as well as extremely friendly. :):)

fair point about the Tau being new, but you can take some comfort in tfhe generous Hyundai warranty.

I haven't driven a 2010 to confirm, but the changes Hyundai announced are in the correct direction to improve the unsettled feel of the 2009's.

You really need to drive one over the surfaces you will see every day and decide for yourself.

I've gotten more used to the lack of rebound/low speed damping, but that doesn't mean I am pleased with it. In the future I will upgrade the suspension...at minimum I will replace the shocks with more effective ones.

I did find this information from the Hyundai forum and thought I might share it here as well. This may help explain why Doug725 is very angry at anyone who says something positive about the Genesis car or Hyundai brand in general.

Yeah he traded in his 2009 Genesis for a mercury. I did find this so maybe this is why he is so mad?

Yes it's otherwise a great car. What a shame - I was very disappointed to have to trade my Genny in - not to metion $5500 poorer"

So why does he keep coming back to this forum? Good question. I am enjoying my 2010 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track with Navigation!

Test drove an Infiniti G37 (too small) Infiniti M37 (waaaayyy too many distractions on the console & dash and far too weak with the V6. Also far too expensive with the V8) Cadillac CTS (too much cheesy plastic inside and also woefully underpowered) Genesis V6, and Genesis V8 all last Saturday. Genesis V8 won hands down and I'm happily driving it today. Without a doubt best bang for your buck. Lexus ES350 is a really nice Camry but still ultimately a Camry, Acura TL looks awful these days (and that's what I traded from) Acura RL is a big TL and also way overpriced. BMW 535i was sweet as was Mercedes E class, but I could find better things to do with the extra $25000 it would have cost me to buy either.

I too traded from a TL to the Genesis. The Genesis is hands down better in almost every way, but there are a couple of tiny things I never thought I'd miss from my Acura that I do. I miss the calendar in the Nav system. I miss being able to see the song title in the information display when the map screen is up. The things I like on the Genesis are too numerous to name.

Because I want to - I find the topic interesting. Not angry at all -just amused.

Besides no one is making your read it - just like one isn't forced to read your sycophant 12 year-old cheerleading drivel. You have plenty of opportunities to moon over your car as you please.

Sayantsi has never expereinced the problem yet swears it does not exist. I'll tell that to the 75 people who have contatced me about their strange suspension. He does not have a clue how many people may be dissatisfied or satisfied. Ask yourself why is he so insistent no one could have had an issue and the issue does not exist.

Sure, tell it to the 76 people that agree with me...

Make it 77! And the 77th is one who actually drove Doug's car over one of his rough patches (that made him nauseated if I recall correctly) while he drove my V8. My conclusion from that swap of rides? Doug is delusional, his car was fine. His conclusion? I'm nuts because my car rode worse than his.

I think you've said it numerous times in numerous threads: drive it and see for your self. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
