If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Based on the UK pricing announcement today I've put together a super rough outline of the way UK pricing typically compares to the Canadian pricing for the other GMP vehicles. For the sake of fair comparison I've left the iZEV $5k credit off here, but of course that would lower the effective price of the EV6 and Ioniq 5 by that amount if you actually purchased one. The trims likewise aren't perfectly comparable between the UK and NA markets for all these cars but they are very close and offer a "good enough" estimate if nothing else.

Using these numbers alone I'd assume in the 65-68k ballpark on the Advanced trim and around 80k for the Performance model which does contradict what my dealer has told me, so only time will tell the truth. In these numbers I also discount the VAT rate of 20% on these vehicles for the sake of comparison since cars in Canadian markets are generally advertised without any tax included since it varies by province. Overall I'm sure there are a lot of other factors at play when they eventually do set Canadian pricing but this offers a lot more reasonable of a comparison than directly translating the 65k GBP and realizing that's around 110k CAD.

GBP Price = Current listed price w/ VAT and no additional options
Less VAT = True purchase price without VAT
CAD Conversion = the current exchange rate in CAD for the "Less VAT" price

CAD Actual = The price these vehicles sell for in Canada (without iZEV credit, and estimated for the GV60)

Difference = The approximate price discount in Canada when currencies are translated between the "CAD conversion" value and the actual selling price in Canada.
I average the discounting from all the other GMP cars at 8.57%, and make the assumption that the CAD converted UK pricing will come with an 8.57% discount for the Canadian market GV60.

That's very interesting and thanks for doing all that work!
I think , though, that these numbers do contradict what your dealer originally told you....they are significantly higher, particularly for the Performance model.
A spread of $12k to $15k from Advanced to Performance is quite a bit.
I am definitely out of the market for the Performance at that price. And I may be out of the market for the Advanced as well. There are a couple key features only available on the Performance that are glaringly missing on at $65+ Advanced model like :
...blind spot monitor (my wife's Honda CRV has that)
...no relaxation mode on the driver's seat

I'm not sure it those are deal breakers but certainly a serious oversight for a car that would approach $70k
Thankfully the deposits are refundable and hopefully we know soon so I can start looking at other cars.

Of course! They do definitely contradict what myself a couple others have heard from dealers regarding pricing (and I'm definitely hoping the real numbers reflect that, 10-15k is a huge jump and places the GV60 into a different class of vehicle altogether. It really surprises me that the price gap between the Performance and other trims in the UK pricing is touching 40% of the "Premium" one- it's undeniable the Performance/Sport Plus is the "better" vehicle, but where is the justification for that delta?

I hear what you're saying about the Advanced trim as well - I'm not interested in anything but the Performance from a feature standpoint alone, especially at the prices these vehicles are likely to come in at. That said, I'm 100% willing to walk away and buy a different vehicle if the Performance ends up above the low 70's - it doesn't compare favourably in my mind.

It's worth mentioning since I didn't earlier that the UK pricing in GBP also includes first registration fee and VED (only applicable on the GV60 since it's over 40k GBP). They add up to roughly 500 GBP and includes the destination/freight (like Genesis in Canada). I suppose it would be fair to adjust the respective GBP prices by ~500 GBP each alongside the VAT free rates, but it wouldn't change the approximation of Canadian pricing that much.

Advanced also doesn't have 360 camera which I find a bit ridiculous for a car this price.

The problem for me is that I don’t really have another car in mind. I want to ditch the ICE I own and go electric but I don’t want a big car. The GV60 seems big enough to throw two road bikes in the back and is only 177” long which is very important. I don’t wanna bigger vehicle to drive around Toronto.
I don’t see any good alternatives. For me the Hyundai models are, at 4-5” longer just too big..

Wait another 1-2 years, and there will be a tonne more product on the market.

of course....if you are able to wait.....

As the saying goes… Good things come to those who do. :)

Also, we may have no choice if the recent rumours of delays are true. There are always ways to get something to bridge a few months.

wasn't sure where to post this but this seems to be the most 'alive' thread: Genesis GV60 gets remote software updates

It seems like there is already a Genesis OTA update to the software. I'm impressed.

Check out the Ariya when it comes out. Nissan has the most experience and they've developed it longer than any of the other mainstream EV's before bringing it to market. I suspect it's going to be 'special' but the market and parts situation has the price climbing. I had an ID 4 on reserved and the price went up twice while the 6 months passed. Canceled it and ordered the Ariya and it's already gone up once in price. I think the very high demand and lack of parts is driving everything through the roof, but especially EV's.
There are MANY interesting new EV's coming.

I actually looked at the Ariya before putting down my GV60 deposit (and while I'm not fredf), the Ariya is bigger still than even the Ioniq 5 is, and I can't really understand Nissan's pricing play - they aren't marketing it under their premium Infiniti brand even and yet American pricing for the middle of the road model comes in at 70k CAD equivalent and just shy of 80k for the higher end trim. It also has a maximum DCFC speed of 130kW, barely over half what the Hyundai/Genesis GMP platform is capable of (and the 10-80% charge time is 45mins at best). I really wanted to like it and have more competition in the space but I don't see the value in it without a pricing adjustment to make it more competitive. Taking the Nissan on a road trip would be legitimately inconvenient for me unless I used it exclusively as an in-city commuter type vehicle.

For $80K, a vehicle needs to have significant upscale cred. Driving experience - power, features, interior would all need to be a cut above. That's one reason why I could never see myself buying a Tesla.
The EV market is still in its infancy. Combine that with the current COVID/supply chain issues and manufacturers still trying to discover how to price their vehicles, and you have some weird pricing playing out. There are some EV price points now that make little sense to me.
I think things will sort themselves out in two or so years. We should be past the current supply mayhem, and will have a lot more product available, and prices should fall in line

They are all in city commuter type vehicles to me. If was doing long distance I wouldn't do it.
Charging in the garage overnight is all I need and all I care about.
Same for about 75%+ of the market apparently.
But all anyone talks about is range and charging times. ;0)
Chinese EV's going to CLEAN HOUSE when they arrive.

Just changed colour from matthorne matte to uyuni white. Was weird on the website I could not order the ash grey interior with the uyuni white online but my dealer made the change for me no problem. (Performance model)
I think the uyuni white and ash grey interior will look great. Wonder if it would have moved my place in line?

Btw my dealer also mentioned pricing should be starting around the 66 k range but cannot say for sure yet

Is that $66k for the Performance? That would be great

no i think 66k for the base and about 9 k more the performance haahah my bad

$66k and no blind spot camera? That sucks.
I was originally interested in the VW ID.4 AWD but no availability until summer 2023 now.
I wish I could wait but I need to pull the trigger by end of 2022. Unfortunately I think the GV60 is going to be too rich for my blood.
As was mentioned above, the Ariya was if interest but too big for me and likely too expensive as well.
I know there will be a lot of options in a year or two but I’m not sure I can wait that long.
