Based on the UK pricing announcement today I've put together a super rough outline of the way UK pricing typically compares to the Canadian pricing for the other GMP vehicles. For the sake of fair comparison I've left the iZEV $5k credit off here, but of course that would lower the effective price of the EV6 and Ioniq 5 by that amount if you actually purchased one. The trims likewise aren't perfectly comparable between the UK and NA markets for all these cars but they are very close and offer a "good enough" estimate if nothing else.
Using these numbers alone I'd assume in the 65-68k ballpark on the Advanced trim and around 80k for the Performance model which does contradict what my dealer has told me, so only time will tell the truth. In these numbers I also discount the VAT rate of 20% on these vehicles for the sake of comparison since cars in Canadian markets are generally advertised without any tax included since it varies by province. Overall I'm sure there are a lot of other factors at play when they eventually do set Canadian pricing but this offers a lot more reasonable of a comparison than directly translating the 65k GBP and realizing that's around 110k CAD.
GBP Price = Current listed price w/ VAT and no additional options
Less VAT = True purchase price without VAT
CAD Conversion = the current exchange rate in CAD for the "Less VAT" price
CAD Actual = The price these vehicles sell for in Canada (without iZEV credit, and estimated for the GV60)
Difference = The approximate price discount in Canada when currencies are translated between the "CAD conversion" value and the actual selling price in Canada.
I average the discounting from all the other GMP cars at 8.57%, and make the assumption that the CAD converted UK pricing will come with an 8.57% discount for the Canadian market GV60.
