  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

I had used the above specs to base my decision to put a deposit on a GV60. It is close to the Model Y which fit me well at 6'4" and I was able to sit behind my own driving position.

From what I just read, there are delays for more than one million Hyundai/Kia/Genesis cars because of chip shortages. This would include the GV60. I am not sure if this includes current orders or future ones.

From the Korean times:

Hyundai customers will also have to wait more than 12 months to receive their GV60, GV70, IONIQ 5 and Porter EV vehicles.

"Recently, the production of vehicles has been delayed due to the lack of supply of semiconductors and parts, so the number of backorders has increased," an official at a local carmaker said on condition of anonymity.

Having the demo vehicles only get here in May after taking deposits several months ago is pretty brutal. At least give us pricing or be a bit more transparent when the demo cars are going to be coming.
I agree entirely. Honestly, I’m sure I will like the car. The deciding factor for me is price. I’m wasting all this emotional energy and I don’t even know if I’m still in the market until I hear the price.
What is the holdup on pricing?

I bet they are waiting on news of government rebate changes for EV cars so they know if they can add a little more to the price or not

It would be the opposite. The cars won‘t meet the rebate as it currently is. If the ceiling is raised, they’ll do their best to make the car eligible.

The ceiling is already going to be more than enough since the government wants to include trucks which will cost much more than the base GV60 , all kia and hyundai dealers in my area marked up the ioniq5 and ev6 between 5-8 grand and then advertised a 5000 dollar discount which was the ev rebate

A few problems with your claim.

1)Dealers charging more because of discounts is not clear or universal. It certainly isn’t the case with either the Hyundai or Kia dealerships I visited. Both were offering the models at MSRP. I suspect that is driven much more by the tight supply, not the govt rebate, as rebate-eligible cars were going below MSRP prior to COVID.

2)MSRP is what drives rebate eligibility, not net selling price from dealers. Brand head offices decide MSRP. The ‘they’ that is setting prices, isn‘t the ‘they’ you claim to be hosing buyers.

3)We don’t know what the new rules will be. Or if the GV60 would qualify for a rebate under a new regime. You can certainly bet they won’t qualify under the current one. While they do intend to make medium duty vehicles eligible, the rebate criteria could easily be crafter to apply to vehicles of certain GVW, towing capacity, classes, etc. that would allow higher priced trucks to qualify, but not passenger cars of similar prices. We already have the in the current program, where cars of five or fewer seats have one price limit, and those with seven or more, another.

I appreciate your trust in dealers not to take advantage of Government rebates , i however will not buy any marked up car , which while they were available were marked up substantially ,

I think we have a fair bit in common here. 😀

I don’t trust dealerships. My point was that they are not the ones making the decisions that would determine whether the vehicle was eligible for a rebate.

Also, given the current supply/demand situation for cars, I was fine paying full MSRP (which I have never done before) for the EV6, but if they asked for a dollar more I would have walked away. If dealerships in your area are asking above sticker, I understand your hesitation. If you can wait things out, do so. This too shall pass.

On the reservation page,
There's the Advance and Performance package.
Do you think Performance will have all the Advance content in Performance?
The Performance listing content is so few, it seems for me that Performance includes or replaced all of Advance content and is the top Package.
1. What do you guy's think?

2. Is there anyone got the configuration sheet from the dealer?

Korean configuration sheet is all À la carte, I don't believe its a good reference point.
===
3. Also, for most of the similar EV out there, i4, polestar 2, xc40, they all comes with included data service for 3-4 years.
What you think genesis will do for canadian? Will they include free of charge internet data? EV is about tech right?

Says all Advanced features plus right on it.

I didn't use the configurator. I GXM did it for me over the phone. But he sent me an e-brochure that says it.

I want more! Where can we get the entire brochure? This is the first I’m seeing estimated ranges for Canada.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Wow, only a range of 400 Km? Even with the performance model 378 km. I hope they tweak this around
Not sure if they're just using the Korean testing method and directly translating or an actual NA standard. Regardless it is fine for me as I only drive 100km a week to work and back.
