Rim, coil over and lowering springs help!

FYI, the rear wheels/tires in your picture will be perfectly lined up with the fenders, but the front wheels/tires will not be. The yellow is my old setup (flush) and the green is your setup.

Also, especially if you are AWD, the rear tires should be 275/30/19, not 275/35/19. Generally you don't want staggered tires with the same sidewall ratio number. It looks pretty weird. The sidewall will be 35 percent as high as the tire is wide...but you have different widths front and rear what

I know about the ratio but for some reason Custom Offsets wasn’t offering the back 30? I’m trying to get a staggered set of wheels with the correct offset without having to use spacers. What brand of rims did you use? This is frustrating as all hell!!! I was going to use 20’s but decided against the rough ride and not being able to find anything remotely close to those offset numbers. Do you have a picture?

I'm going to chime in here because of my recent experience. I just got my wheels put on today. Factory rubber was transferred onto 19x8.5 et30 in the front and 19x9.5 et35 in the rear. The final measurements need to be taken from inside my garage but the rear wheels poke by 3-4mm beyond the body. There might be another 3mm of rubber beyond the wheel. I didn't take that measurement. The front wheels are still slightly inside the fender by around 5mm if I remember correctly. I'll see if I can get some definitive measurements with pics tomorrow. I think it looks incredible! However, flush to me means perfectly aligned with the body...not even a millimeter of poke. I went with the manufacturer's recommendation but it isn't exactly what I was wanting.

Are you wanting the wheel itself to be flush with the body? Or are you wanting the mounted tire to be flush with the body? They aren't necessarily the same thing.

Good question! I guess the mounted tire to be flush so nothing is sticking bout when I look down the profile of my G70.

I consider flush that NOTHING is poking out, so basically we're talking about the tire. But sometimes flush is still a bit too aggressive, so maybe a millimeter or two inward, which would also avoid any rub near maximum reach (close to bottoming out). You also need good mud guards with aggressive offsets, since the tires throw all kinds of crap to the body, which typically angles inward at the bottom, meaning tire is flush when viewed from above, but viewed from behind, the tire pokes out a lot at the bottom of the door, for instance. I don't mess with wheels and tires anymore. Just hope the ride is not too harsh with that minimum amount of rubber in the front. Plus the risk of damaging the wheels too. But will switch to more robust A/S (probably ultra high-performance Pilot A/S4s) after I'm done with the 4Ss. Hope they also reduce cabin noise to an acceptable level.

Great! Now that know exactly what you want, making a decision on offset should be easier. I'll get you some more detailed pictures of my wheels and tires today. Here's a good side profile picture(s).

I believe thatjawncrazy's setup had a perfectly flush look with the mounted tire. No poke whatsoever is how I understood the post.

ELP_JC also had some great points about appearance from different viewing angles. I'll get some pictures that support those statements.

Excellent points! Anyone looking into an aftermarket setup with widths different from the OEM setup should take these into consideration. I definitely did but went against my gut and decided to go with the recommendation from Stance Wheels. Their recommended offset was:

Front - 19x8.5 et30
Rear - 19x9.5 et35

The offset numbers I chose would have given me more of the look I was going for. My numbers based off of research from willtheyfit.com were:

Front - 19x8.5 et27
Rear - 19x9.5 et45

I'm fairly certain that the factory wheels are:

Front - 19x8 et34
Rear - 19x8.5 et46.5

Those factory numbers came from wheel-size.com

So Michael and ELP,

What’s the consensus numbers on “flush”?? Going back and looking at Jawn’s numbers, does he have the correct offset numbers? 40 rear and 32 front offset I believe?? I need to look again… Lots of numbers? LOL! I’m trying to find a 19x10 rear and 19x9.5, 9.0 front set up? With the Michelin pilot tires. Michael, looking at your pictures, the rears are sticking out just a touch….what brand rims are those? I do like the color…might look good with the Makula gray!

Here's a few more pictures. The +30 offset up front is close. The wheel and tire (19x8.5 et30 225/40/19) fit just inside the top of the fender arch. My measurement was 5-7mm inside the fender but I was unable to get a picture. I needed another person in order to get a picture. Of course, if you run anything larger than 225/40/19 on those front tires, that changes things.

The rear wheel and tire poke by a total of 5mm. In order to match the front wheel/tire, the offset would need to be +45 to +47 instead of +35. Again, this is assuming a 255/35/19 tires.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong😂. I'm no wheel/tire expert or professional.

I had Jawn’s offset numbers inverted, 42, 30

Seems to me that you are limiting your flexibility here by going with 19x10 wheels. According to willtheyfit.com and thatjawncrazy you will be extremely close to a perfect flush with fender look. If you are wanting them to tuck under the fender a little, you may need to consider a 19x9.5 wheel or a wheel with an offset of more than +45. I'm running Stance Wheels SF10.

Yup, here's a picture. It is frustrating!! Good choice deciding against 20s - they look HUGE on G70s and ride like complete shit.

This is my old setup though. It had no spacers and these wheels are Verde VFF01s.
19x9 +30
19x10 +42
And use willtheyfit.com to compare wheels you're looking at, to that setup.

My new setup rides better but has spacers in the front.

Center bore is 67.1mm. If you would like to get aftermarket wheels with the correct offset, you can use willtheyfit.com to compare them to my old setup, which is perfectly flush with the fenders. That website will show you how they fit.
19x10 +42 with 275/30/19 tire
19x9 +30 with 245/35/19 tire

I have a new setup where the sidewalls look way better and the car rides nicer, but i have a spacer in the front to get it flush, not sure if you want to run a spacer. Let me know if you want my new setup numbers.

You will also need centering rings if your new wheels have a center bore bigger than 67.1mm. So mine are 67.1 to 72.5mm centering rings.

You will also need to make sure your front and rear overall rolling diameter are within like 1% if you are AWD. That website gives you all the info.

I have Eibach lowering springs which are 1.4" drop and they still ride great. I don't know so much about coilovers.
What eibach springs you running with the awd?

You’re right. 19x10 I have 19x9.5 +35 now and on full compression they tuck into the fender. Not sure if that would be possible with 19x10.

Did you make a final decision on wheels?
Hey Michael,

I was the phone with a guy named Matt from Fitment Industries going through my numbers for rims and tires. For some reason the tire ratio I wanted wasn’t coming up online so I had to call them…I was going to go with Michelin Sport tires but was talked into Continentals. Also purchased some lowering springs from M&S.

NICE!! Those are great numbers, what size tires did you go with? And what Continentals? My Conti DWS06 all seasons are great.

Hey Jawn,

Just viewed your picture! That 1.4 drop is super aggressive. Thinking maybe I should have went with the ARK GT-F’s at .75 drop. The M&S lowering springs are 1.4 drop front…1.2 back drop. Maybe need to run a 19x9.5 back and 19x9.0 fron….
