  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Had a test drive yesterday. Man the car is insanely fast. Was told that he would not be surprised if the car arrives this month, and certainly before the end of next month. I ordered mint but wanted to change to grey/silver. He said I wouldn't be able to because they stopped taking orders already.

Still debating if 90k (after tax) is a smart move given the financial situation of the world right now.

I changed my exterior color yesterday with my dealership with no issues. They stopped taking orders..?

The pre-order link is gone from the Canadian website. You can still select 'Build & Order' for the GV60, but not sure how far through the process it will take you.

From a recent conversation with my sales contact, I get a sense that a number of vehicles are now at the port, but haven't yet been assigned to specific customers and dealers, so there may still be a general pool from which the dealers would have cars allocated from.

The inconsistent info from dealers is a bit frustrating. My sales rep basically said he has no idea on timing and if I find another vehicle they will refund my deposit. He also said they wouldn't have a VIN until the car is ready to ship.

I really have no idea what it's like to be a car salesperson or how much work they have to do. However how many models of cars does Genesis have that they cannot be on top of it?
From misinformation about the fingerprint reader to whether or not it has HUD these salespeople are often talking out of an orifice other than their mouths.
It took me 5 minutes this morning to get some information on the phone from Genesis HQ that contradicted what some people on this forum were told by their dealer.

And on Tuesday, when I took my test drive, my dealer (with some urging from me) was able to find my build dates and likely time of arrival.

I wonder if the location of the vehicles isn't the reason for the delays - but instead the cause is some sort of regulatory/registration delay.

The manual isn't available yet, it isn't yet listed on the nrcan fuel economy listings, and my insurance company just told me they can't quote the vehicle (even though I provided a VIN) because it isn't yet in the system.

If there were a regulatory delay I wouldn't think they could let customers take them for test drives and get provincial plates for the vehicles.

I wondered the same, but I'm not sure that demo vehicles get registered provincially. Dealers plates aren't tied to specific vehicles, and I suspect there may be exceptions available to manufacturers to let them on the road.

I used to regularly drive through a town where GM had a cold-weather test facility, and would often see vehicles on the road that were not yet available for sale.

My dealer told me there are different types of plates. For instance they had the vehicle out on the road a few days before he could let me test drive. I asked him how they could drive a car without plates and he said there are plates specifically for tech support people to test cars and that is different from dealer plates that allow sales people and customers to drive the cars.
But, what do I know.

I talked to Genesis customer care, they said there should be info coming very soon regarding deliveries. Summer and late summer deliveries should be happening was another comment.

My sales contact said that there was a call on the GV60 today, and that he should have VIN to me very shortly. Let's hope this all means we'll have some certainty by the end of the week.

Spoke with my salesperson today and he said he talked to Genesis HQ today - said orders are temporarily paused for the time being on new GV60 orders and that orders made within the last little bit aren't expected for one to one and a half years from now.

He also mentioned that your place in the queue doesn't really matter at this point unless you ordered really early. I'm sure most know this but apparently they make batches based on exterior/interior color and in increments of 100 at a time in Korea.

Sorry, I'm probably overanalyzing - did you mean someone order ranked 900 in say white could get it before someone order ranked 500 in the same color?

Or I assume what you meant was your order rank is relevant only compared to the specific color you want. So someone who is ranked 900 for copper, may get it in the first batch if only 99 other copper orders were ahead of them. Whereas someone ordering white with an order rank of 500 may have 299 other white orders ahead of them, so they get it in the 3rd batch?

That’s the way I understand it, yeah.

I saw a GV60 driving around Toronto today..... So they are here and we can go look at them?

Yes. A number of people have posted that they have been seen at their local dealership and some have taken test drives.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Ottawa just got theirs yesterday. Test drives starting next week.

I have a test drive set up with Genesis Yorkdale (Toronto) tomorrow morning. Anything I should target for a trial? Fingerprint, HUD, wireless AA and CarPlay, HDA 1/2, etc? I feel like HDA will be difficult to test on the 401…

All of the above?
