GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

I test drove the Langley white Performance one on Friday in the rain. I was really impressed! Acceleration with Boost on the wet road was extremely stable. No wheel spin at all, although to be fair it was not full throttle. Sport setting is overly sensitive/reactive to me and I found Comfort to be perfect. Very linear and predictable. The ride is very comfortable with it being slightly on the firm side but nowhere near too firm.

For my needs I don't need the performance and today I confirmed my order for the Advanced (Adriatic Blue)too high.

Other test drives have been Polestar 2 - its been a year, but I think very similar cars but the GV60 has a better quality interior and I just liked it better.
Ioniq5 RWD - did not like it. Felt very cheap to me
Kia Niro EV - top trim is really nice and to be honest it was a toss-up between this and the GV60. From a money perspective this is the one to get in my opinion. I have a deposit on a 2023 model but will likely cancel it now that I have driven the GV60.
Model Y - too rough and too minimalistic.
Audi E-tron and BMW iX but those are different classes.

Pricing- Yes I do think this is too high but see they are pricing it against the Polestar 2 and Volvo XC-40 / C-40.
Performance Models are in Canada and sitting at the port and will be delivered to customers the end of the month. My Advanced will hopefully be the end of July or early August.

Thanks for the drive review
Did your dealer say how many performance models were in Canada for end of month delivery ?
Also I thought I read in earlier posts that they were building only performance models initially and the Advanced models were not coming to the later part of year ?

I test drove a GV60 Performance in Mattarhorn White with Ash Gray at Hyundai/genesis dealership in Markham, Ont. First thing I notice is the interior is beautiful in ash gray. The car definitely looked better in person than in pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try out the boost mode while testing driving but the ride was smooth in comfort and sport mode. The interior was very quiet and have pretty decent leg room front and rear seats (I’m 6'1). Not much head room space in the back seats but I'll be driving most of the time so it doesn’t matter. One thing I didn’t like was the steering wheel is a little too small. The top part of the steering wheel is blocking some of the digital cluster display even though I adjusted the steering wheel all the way up. I think it depends on your height so it might not bother some people. I ordered an Advanced GV60 Mauna Red exterior with ash gray and my salesperson said its going to be around October this year to arrive for my trim/colour. After a bit of digging, the salesperson said we can still cancel the order with deposit fully refundable even if we confirm the order today as long is cancel before taking delivery of the vehicle. So, I put my signature down on the "not final" bill of sale today and will do a bit more research on other EVs. I also tried to see if price was negotiable but they said they can’t discount because they are only a distributor for genesis vehicle.

I also went to Ford afterwards to check out a Mach-E premium trim which they had 1 in stock and the interior doesn’t compare. GV60 is way better. It actually costed more than GV60 Advanced trim because of dealer markup with extra accessories/warranty (around $78000 before tax, crazy). They said have to wait at least 6 months for pre-order without mark up.

Don't know the details but only a total of 1500 cars to Canada this year. Advanced should be the end of the July as part of the second batch I think.

Hey folks, any recommendations for the garage chargers which can be bought in Canada? Thanks

If they are looking at Canada as a whole, that doesn't make sense. Most of us outside of Quebec and Ontario haven't had a chance to see the car in person yet. Our deadline is definitely not Monday.
I hope you are right. My salesperson has not been in touch at all. If I miss out because of this, I’ll be pissed. I am not wanting to commit without a test drive.

I had my test drive of a red performance this morning in Toronto. Dealer told me finger print was disabled… also, Bluetooth was disabled and I didn’t have a USB cord to connect to my phone. I used the native navigation, which was fine. We did not try the facial recognition function.

The car is very nice overall and the boost on the performance is dangerous (good thing?). I pushed it way above the speed limit on open stretches of the highway. To me, the car was so calm, quiet and stable at high speed that I had no idea it was going so fast.

Talking to the dealer, the deliveries will come “batched” per exterior/interior colours and he had no idea which batches were first. We agreed to keep my pre-order selections and add a note that I was open to any Advanced model - in case a cancellation opens up.

Although the price isn’t what I’d like, it seems like the “earlier” delivery estimated in 2022 will help me decide. I’m waiting for a polestar 2 test drive as deliveries seem to be quicker, but it has slower max charge speed.
I hadn’t noticed the gray on the wheels. I don’t think I like it either. What color would you wrap? How much might that cost?

When did you order your advanced?

I was told next year for mine and i'm like #800 for an advanced order.. i'd be well within that 1500 number it this year if that's true?

March 5, 2022, salesperson said I'm at around #200 ish.
Nice. I also ordered the mauna red/ash grey interior but from the TO dealership... sitting around #875 so I'm doubtful I'll get it this year

I'm in Calgary, I just got invited to test drive their demo on Wednesday. I'm excited. I'm the only person I know of that ordered a GV60 Advanced in Barosa Burgundy, so who knows when it'll be produced, but unless I hate it on Wednesday (doubtful), I'm going to tell them that I'm open to any colour if something arrives earlier and the buyer cancels.

I last researched chargers about a year ago - but the one that stood out to me was the Grizzl-e
brand.

- made in canada
- super durable and able to be outside in Canadian weather
- relatively affordable

Check it out.

I am curious about some color choices I see on this forum; Barosa Burgundy and Cardiff Green are not options when I select colors in the Genesis order menu. I did not see any pictures of theses colors either. I am in Quebec. Are these available in other parts of the country?

I just received mine. It was the only Canadian made 40 amp charger available. Looks pretty good except the plug/cord holder seems a bit light for such a heavy cable.

On the subject of chargers - do you (or anyone else) know of the gv60 comes with one? As I have a garage and change cars yearly I’d rather use the included charger if possible!

They also have the Grizzl-e Duo coming out later this year. It is currently available south of the border but not certified in Canada yet. Which seems a little weird to me.

For those 2 EV Car garages

It is only available on the Advanced, still showing as available in Ontario

I am in Calgary as well and yesterday morning (Saturday), I received a call from my contact and was able to test drive in the afternoon. The model was a Performance one with white exterior and black interior. The inside was very nice but a little too dark to my liking, and as mentioned by another person above, the steering wheel was in the way of the blind monitoring system. I didn’t play too much with the sitting position so perhaps this can be fixed at least partially.

I was very impressed with the car overall and will be proceeding with the purchase. I have chosen the Performance model with the mint color and blue interior. I was told I will get a VIN next week and I might get the vehicle in the next 2-3 weeks, and most likely by the end of June. I had reserved the car right away (within 8 minutes I think!) when reservations opened up in February and was apparently the 2nd in line for that dealership, which has received about 200 reservations before they closed to new reservations due to high demand and limited supply.
