  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Mine as well, but he's too busy, and I am still trying to have my test drive.
His dealer doesn't allow going test drive alone.

I don't like sale rep to come with me, because he's train to make all those sale pitch. Psychological, i prefer to test it myself, with no one with me drive around. Plus, 0-100, will be slower with two people on baord.
I find salespeople are pretty good during test drives, they seem most interested in having you follow a specific route. Aside from directions and responding to questions I asked, mine had little to say.

Who cares about the additional weight, unless your accelseration test is instrumented the difference will be virtually unnoticeable. Besides, we’ve seen what the car can do 0-60 from reports and videos, and a couple tenths here or there is irrelevant. Who’s going to walk from a sale because they experienced a 4.1 sec. 0-60 when they should have got 4.0?

The only thing I can do is sell privately. I'm still not going to get what I could have had they been upfront and honest from the start. But I can remove the 5k of accessories that I was going to buy and but aftermarket for tires rims etc ..
The aftermarket for wheels, tires, mats, etc. seems a no-brained to me. you can often find stuff that’s equal or better quality for less.

Oh for sure. I just like not having to run around afterwards. But I won't reward thievery. I'll take my business elsewhere. It's not like my blue book value reflects this assessment. Showed trade in value currently at about 44k

I don't know. I mean aside from spending that 5000.00 allotted to tires, rims, floor mats somewhere else. The only leverage I have is literally switching to a different dealership so that Ottawa West doesn't get my commission (if it even works that way)... Not sure how much they care about negative reviews, but rest assured if I have to go down this road they'll be getting some.

Was your original trade in value given from the online portal or a verbal thing?

It was via text. The online portal didn't exist at that point
If they said they would honour the trade value, they should hold up to that. Or at least throw in some accessories to compensate for that. Sorry to hear they backing out on their word.

I got a verbal value for my trade when I visited the dealership back in early May, right after they announced the prices. They did say it is based on current value and the actually trade value would be assessed when my order is ready for delivery. I'm thinking I should submit my trade online to hopefully get that locked in.

Given that I'm already screwed without knowing when I'm getting my order, I may be in for a double whammy!

I might have a leg to stand on after all...

Oral agreements are binding as long as the Statute of Fraud does not apply. Text messages, emails, Instagram, Twitter, whether these messages are signed or unsigned…if they're agreements that are in place, which contain an offer and acceptance and consideration, those are binding agreements, those are enforceable.

I was told by my dealer that my car is due t their dealership in Toronto on June 27 yet he insisted he doesn’t have the VIN yet.
Which Genesis dealership are you ordering from? I'm at Maple Vaughan and I was only told the delivery is end of June/early July with no VIN.

I posted in the 20" wheels thread: if you check the accessories for Genesis the winter wheels and tire package they are selling (in this case 19x8.5 flow formed alloy winterized wheels with Conti VikingContact 7 tires) for $3200 is a pretty good deal. And the warranty is very good as well: 5 years finish on the rims and lifetime structural on rims.
Also includes all bolts and TPMS x 4 wheels.
I may spring for that as, at least for winters, I really haven't seen a better offer.

You should certainly push the dealership. They clearly have not followed through on the commitment made.
I think it may fall short of being considered an agreement. Agreements/offers have certain criteria and unless otherwise stipulated do expire after some reasonable time if not acted upon.

I don't understand why aero wheels aren't listed as an option. Especially in winter, I know I'll want every bit of help in extending the range.

Okay. Who has had a good experience with their dealership. Looking to contact one in Montreal or the GTA

Whatever you do, don’t go with Genesis Downtown in GTA
