Congrats on taking delivery. Must be very exciting.Don, from Genesis Calgary arrived at the house at about noon today with my car. We handled the paperwork on the back deck, and then he took me through a few things in the car. Genesis has training for their salespeople next week, so he didn't have a lot of info on the GV60, but took me through the usual Genesis features, etc. He's been very good throughout this process. At points, I felt like he wasn't sharing much information, but realized part way through that the information most other salespeople were providing was just their guesses, and Don was wise to choose his words carefully. I'd have no qualms with recommending him to others.
I spent the next three hours or so going through the owner's manual, and customizing settings, etc. I quite like all the storage spots. The trunk floor folds in a couple different ways, allowing me to hide shopping bags and other items below the deck. I've got my 12V booster pack and an extension cord (if I ever need to charge at 120V) in the frunk, and the center console and glove box allow me to neatly place things much better than I could in my last vehicle. I've got a couple towels laying down in the hatch until I can find a cargo liner.
The car was delivered with about 35% charge, so after I got things setup I drove to the nearest DC fast charger, which was a PetroCan site. It had two charge units with 350kw CCS and Chademo plugs on each. There was a couple at one of the chargers with a Nissan Leaf. Neither of us could get the units working, I called the 800 number shown, the person on the phone rebooted both units with no success. I should have checked PlugShare before heading out as it's been reported as non-functional for some time. The folks with the Leaf said that PetroCan chargers are notoriously unreliable.
I'm really enjoying the car so far. It's taking some time to get my driving position set up comfortably and get used to the controls. I was worried the driving position would feel too high for me as I've been driving sedans for the last eight years, but it has been just fine. I tested out the remote parking feature, which is pretty cool.
The things that may take some time to get used to for me are the width of the vehicle - it is quite wide, and the rear hatch makes and odd noise when it latches. I'm not sure if mine is off somehow or if that's just the way it is, but it is a little loud. I also need to find that post about how to adjust the headrests beck, as they do seem a little far forward.
Was the owner's manual any different from the US version that was posted online?
