Went to start my G70 today, dash lights all came on like normal, stepped on brake and hit the start button and no joy…WTF? Sort of like key fob was not present only no error message about missing key or anything. Car was in my garage so got out, locked and unlock with my key fob to verify it was in fact still talking to the car and it was. Trunk auto opened like normal when I was next to it. Tried to start again and same issue, all dash lights come on like normal but nothing happened, starter does not engage. Tried putting the key fob up next to the start button in case somehow the start system was not seeing the fob, no joy. Called Genesis from my car and told them what was going on, they wanted me to start remotely via my phone but it was in the house so she wanted me to reset the whole infotainment computer system with the tiny reset button. Was not fond of that idea for my radio presets and all customized features would be reset so told Genesis I’ll go find my phone and try that process first and if I need them further I’d call again. Got my phone and sent remote start command, car started fine, went to run my errands and upon getting back into the car and attempting to start, it started fine. So what the hell? It’s like car disassociated itself from starting with key fob somehow? My remote start command seemed to wake things up. I asked Genesis when I was talking to them originally what is the start process if the key fob battery dies or it fails to allow a normal start process and was met with silence from connected services. She said road side assistance will bring out a new fob battery if needed. So not sure what temporarily went wacky and had my remote start command not worked, I was SOL, but at least at home and not in BFE. Anyone else had this type of issue?
