  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New System and MAP Update v16 in May

I updated my car today. I’m not a fan of the new interface for the radio. It’s a lot of wasted space.

Hardly notice anything else.

You disagree with what? ..
You!

I've done two downloads to SD card and three orders by mail. I prefer to order it.

Useless and wasteful? I paid for that feature!

It's the easiest thing to flash yourself and no need to wait weeks and weeks to get another SD card. I don't care that you paid for it, it's a waste of a new SD card when you can reuse one you have, that was my point.

There is no reason to say it is wasteful. It is his purgative to order the SD card just like it is yours to download the update.

Curious if my upcoming 2023 G70 2.0T SP will have the old or new interface. I had to update it for my 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy with a build date of April 2022. And I had to buy a 64GB USB3 stick, since it rejected the 32GB I've been using for a while. It should be the same thing as the SF, no?

It should come with the latest. The 2023s are not even on the map update site. Your USB stick should work fine.

I posted in the FB group, but I noticed that after the latest update, the car music fades out when opening the door with the engine off instead of it just instantly stopping. I like it!

I noticed this too today after updating my '22 G70 3.3T. Caught me by surprise, and I didn't even connect it to the update until now, good catch!

I said "Takes about a week to get it." Nothing has changed.

after updating my '22 G70 3.3T, I lost the ability to add phone favorites.....Anyone have any ideas how to recover this option. Also the phone call display is now larger fonts????

Got my 2023 2.0T SP today, and we're a lot happier than with the 3.3T, even with the missing features (HUD, Napa, 360) that Hyundai decided to not offer on the 2.0T SP anymore (they did in 2021). And not surprising, it still has the old (nixie tubes) interface, so I just finished downloading the update, before doing any presets, or even pairing any phones. However, Genesis site doesn't have 2023 yet, so had to choose 2022 G70, which is the same thing; hopefully everything will go well tomorrow (or later today, rather. Ha ha).

Wow that sucks that they removed so many good features from the 2023 on the 2.0T..

That was since 2022 (after the redesign), but at least they put back ventilated seats (and I think power-folding mirrors) on the top trim for 2023. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bought a G70. Found a new 2021 (with 66 miles on the clock) in San Antonio with everything (except Brembos), but it's been sitting under the sun for 2 freaking years, and they're only deducting 3 grand for a 2-yr-old car, so went with the new one. That car had the same MSRP as my 2023 without HUD, etc., but one important feature is missing on that car which is important to us: acoustic glass in front. Our G70 is borderline noisy inside the cabin for us, so any more than that would be a deal-breaker anyway. Plus I got this one right off the truck yesterday, so can't beat that. It still had 18 miles on the clock, and 24 by the time I test-drove it (service dept miles), so curious if Genesis tests them for that much. Hope it didn't have any damage fixed on port, or elsewhere. I didn't have any other options, so I'll fix the seam paint issue on the front bumper cover (right in front of the hood) myself, and will try to fix a couple of rattles it has. Basically ALL vehicles are being built a lot worse than before, so we have to be more tolerant of that crap. I settle with not having mechanical issues, which are rampant as well :).

Hey guys, an important message about the update. As I've said before, I had issues when downloading update to the hard drive, and never got resolved, until somebody posted it had to be done directly to a USB. And yesterday a found out a couple of things that should help others.

1. I had an updater on file for my 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy, and when I downloaded the Genesis one, it sent me to Hyundai, and couldn't get it done. So DELETE any Hyundai updater, and download it from the Genesis website from scratch. You'll have to choose Hyundai or Genesis again. So when I have to update the SF again, will have to delete everything once more.

2. When logging in again, after the updater is installed, it'll say it cannot find your vehicle. That's normal, unfortunately. Has happened with all my 4 Hyundai/Genesis vehicles of late. DO NOT attempt to 'register' your vehicle, because you can't. Ha ha. Just choose the other option on the left (forgot the name), and then choose your vehicle. Done.

3. I forgot to insert the USB, and system wanted to download the software on my laptop. I knew NOT to do that, so I inserted the USB, and nothing happened. So I restarted the whole thing again (logging back in), with USB inserted -and formatted as exFAT, of course), and THEN the system highlighted the USB as default (like before). And it even warned me not to download it to the HD; go figure.

After that, all went flawlessly. It took like an hour to download to the USB, and about 53 minutes to download to the car (it said 45). Finally, I used a 64GB SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 three times already, and zero issues. The G70 update is right under 32GB, but was rejected on the SF update, so bought a 64GB one, and no issues. I suggest you buy the larger one, since next update for sure will surpass 32GB. Hope this helps.

Dude for point #1, you realize you don't need to always delete and get a different installer. Just go in the settings and switch between Genesis and Hyundai as you please.....

I didn't see where you could do that, but good to know. It literally took me about 2 minutes to delete and reinstall, so probably quicker than trying to find out where the heck that is. Ha ha. But yes, will look for that next time I need to switch, before deleting it again. Thanks.

I honestly have done every thing you say not to and have had no problems. I have the updater on my laptop etc. All your info must be just for you and how you chose to do it.

So don't do it. But many folks are having issues, like I did, and we're offering options to make it work. That's it. It might be a market thing too, or even the type of computer. I'm in the US, with a window-based (windows 10-Pro) computer, and downloading the update to the HD first didn't work for me. Once I did it directly to the USB (installing it formatted to ExFAT before hand), zero installation issues with 3 diferent 2021+ vehicles (Palisade, Santa Fe, and G70) with the same 10.25 5W nav infotainment. So will continue doing it that way.

Can you post a picture of what the new interface looks like?

Haven't seen more control for radio presets, I think they're still in order but haven't played with them. This is the new Radio look that replaces the bulbs.
