  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everyone, hopefully this thread becomes active as I can get many responses and experiences from you all. My car is having an issue with the shifting box where it will sometimes not know what gear I select and I get a P0705 for the range sensor(inhibitor switch) code. This happens occasionally but will go away. It got so bad once I replaced the sensor and it fixed it, until the shifter kept popping out of drive into neutral. Now, I’m wondering if anyone else has this issue with their shifter cable/inhibitor switch. I adjusted it a number of times but it always seems to get out of sync and cause trouble, the thing is so very touchy. Anyone else?

Any fixes for this. I'm having the same issue.

Here's the troubleshooting detail for the inhib switch:

Manual control lever was seized, and the bolt had a hair line crack in it. Both were replaced and the shifter feels really nice now.
