  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

I have been using the remote climate control (via Genesis Connected app) and realized the moment I open the trunk when I'm back to my car the climate control will be turned off. Similarly, the climate control will remain turned on if I open any doors. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm guessing it has to do with electrical circuit that if I open the trunk (instead of doors) it will cut the power to the climate control??

Call in to the Genesis Dealership today for an update on my Genesis GV60 Performances. There still testing the heck out of it. Before they start to throw in various parts into the vehicle, they still have no clue what the issues could be. Has been in the shop over a week now.
Sinblue have they diagnosed/resolved your issue yet. Mine has been in shop almost 3 weeks😩 and neither Calgary Genesis nor Genesis Canada seem any close to resolving inability to fast charge with my GV60! Will level 2 charge without problem however will not connect properly with DC fast chargers.

Hi Birdman56,

Mine is heading into the third week at the Genesis services center still for the "Battery Management System" issues. They are stump and do not have a resolution. Hopefully I won't have to use California Lemon Law to get full reimbursement or a new vehicle. They tell me, they will get back to me this Thursday. As it currently stands, the Genesis technicians is checking out each battery cells individually to make sure there are no anomalies within the battery cells themselves. So I'm just patiently waiting. I've heard there's now over 12 Genesis GV60 Performances that have these issues in the West.

Thx for the quick reply. Did you GV60 have any issues with DCFast Charging or just the BMS warning?

Zero issues with DCFast Charging. Only issues is with the BMS warning and a small issues with the car stereo system not producing max volume. I max out the volume and it still sounds very low.

Thx again. My issues are inability to fast charge and error message on both app and incar that passenger window is down when it is in fact closed.

I believe once you turn off the car but are still running the accessories, you are drawing power from your 12 volt battery. If the light comes on right after you turn off the car it sounds like your 12 volt battery is not fully charged. Suggestion is to test the 12 volt battery voltage ( you can buy an inexpensive one on Amazon). I would also suggest purchasing a inexpensive battery tender/charger also on Amazon to charge the 12 V battery to its full capacity. I plan on checking the battery voltage and charging if necessary once a month. Supposedly when the light comes on this is your high voltage indicator which has electricity flowing from the cars battery pack to the 12 volt battery however I am not so sure that this in itself fully charges the 12 battery.

I purchased a battery monitor after my original issues with the 12V system.

I already have a number of battery tenders and chargers, but they are unnecessary here. The 12V system is recharged any time the car is driven, and if things are working properly, should be 'topped up' regularly when the vehicle is not in use. Looking at my battery monitor, the vehicle seems to consider 13V to be a full charge. There is no need to maintain a charge above that level.

I've regularly used battery tenders in the past for ICE vehicles that weren't regularly driven, but they are not really useful for a properly functioning GV60.

If your 12 volt battery is fully charged then you have no worries...

I got a message today to schedule a service appointment. It was on the screen in the car and pushed through the app. 1200km on it and no issues. Did anyone else get this? There is no info as to what it’s about

Hopefully I won't have to use California Lemon Law to get full reimbursement or a new vehicle.
Do you understand the circumstances where the California lemon law applied. Merely saying the words lemon law won’t help you out

  • The problem first occurred within 18 months of delivery or 18,000 miles (whichever comes first);
  • If required by the warranty or owner’s manual, you notified the manufacturer about the problem; and
  • You have taken the vehicle in for repair by the manufacturer or its agents:
    • Four or more times for the same problem and it still is not fixed, or
    • Two or more times for the same problem, if that problem is big enough to cause death or serious injury, and it still is not fixed, or
    • The vehicle has been out of service for repair for more than 30 days (the 30 days do not need to be in a row).
I’d hope they find a fix.

I have been getting the message quite frequently and when I check the system , all is well and the message disappears until it show’s up again. I don’t want it to be serviced yet because I don’t my car to be touched by the inexperienced mechanics and technicians.

Understood about the mechanics and techs, but on the flip side if the message keeps appearing you don't want to try to start the car one day and it won't start. Not sure if your potential issue has anything to to with some of the other members having their cars in the shop as it will not start as there is an issue with the BMS. Or you get in a situation when something does happen to the car and you finally take it in and Genesis states the issue is worse now because you received warnings in the car and did not take it in for service and and they dispute you on the warranty coverage.

Anyone figure how to prevent the units from changing to Celsius? When it was in for service they could not replicate the issue. I believe it is happening whenever I charge at home. I have a Juicebox 40 at home, anyone else have this issue with a Juicebox?

It’s not charging related. It happens to me periodically and randomly, and I don’t charge at home.

It happens to me every time I turn the car on, charging or not.

I had this service message (only once) and my rep said that you get this when you sign up for Genesis Connect and to disregard the message. Not sure what I think of this reply, but I haven't seen the message again. I will say that it popped up after we were trying to use the forward and back buttons to move the car in and out of the garage. Lots of beeping and stopping due to obstacles. We kept trying. I wonder if we made it glitch.

One week in and I think I ran into the dreaded 12V issue (ironically, the battery booster I bought after reading about the issue arrives tomorrow).

It was at the shop getting paint protection film, battery went from 76% when they closed up for the night to reporting 0% on the app about a half hour later and a completely inert car. It wouldn't take a charge from the wall AC, so now we've got the 12V hooked up to a charger (but no sign of life yet).

Hope that's a one off from it being in the shop in valet mode with the hood open (so many notifications about that)!

Sorry to hear that. Do you have a Performance or Advanced?

Performance - I hope it's something simple like oh the doors were left open too long at the shop, rather than the 12V is going to be a bit temperamental from here on in.
