  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Not according to mine. Are we surprised? ;)
Nope. I've decided to pull the chute. The way Genesis has handled this roll-out is a complete joke. I ordered March 15 (Performance white on black) and my dealer won't even tell me if I'm likely to see a car in the first half of 2023, let alone 2022. I have zero confidence in this brand. Never once has the company or the dealer reached out with information ... it's always me chasing them, and the answer is always "we don't know anything". If this is the pre-ownership experience (when they still presumably want your $80K) I shudder to think what the ownership experience would be like.

My dealer started with the very bottom end of black book, which is about 25% below what blue book was suggesting for a trade in.

My rep went to bat though, and I did manage to get the median blue book trade in value (which isn't nearly as much a private sale but to me was worth not having to let tire kickers take my GTI around.

I wonder if there was a little more wiggle room for negotiation for you, or maybe my dealer was looking for an assured sale?

My Genesis EM contacted me to inform that the car has arrived. Hoping to accept delivery of a Performance Blue/Navy next week. 🥳
Take someone with you as you may not be safe to drive since you won't be able to sleep for the next few days.
Have fun with it.

Agree with you. I’ve canceled my order (Advance ordered February 15) and same experience with Genesis and dealer - nothing. I emailed the dealer 2 weeks ago and they said it ‘may’ be built in September but no guarantee! Meanwhile other Advance models have been delivered at the dealer, ordered after my order! CANCELLED!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Mine likely arriving in Vancouver (port) any day now - with arrival at dealership in MTL Aug 10-15.
I suspect it quiet around here as when people get their car, they typically drop off the forms. And the bulk of other people (unlike us) are only expecting delivery in many months :(
Any news?

So apparently the Performance Mauna Red with Navy interior I cancelled in July is at Genesis Downtown in Toronto and will be sent back to Genesis Canada.
It hasn’t sold so if anyone is interested in that colour, it may still be available for sale.

What a crazy way to sell cars. Genesis should have allowed people to indicate whether they were flexible on the colour. i.e. choose your preferred colour but indicate whether you’d be happy to settle for any other colours. (When I bought my last car four years ago, the colour wasn’t my top choice but it was in stock so I took it, with no regrets.)

That's basically how I got my GV60 though, I called the dealers that I was willing to go to (i.e. not to crazy of a driving distance from me), and told them I want to be put on a reservation list, what color options I'm open to, and quite a few followed up with me. As soon as someone backs out, they call the next person on their list to check if they want that color option. I rejected a couple because one thing I was not willing to settle on was a light colored interior (I don't trust myself lol), but now I have a GV60! Granted I'm also in the US, but that method might work for you guys as well...

Yeah a bit insane. I cancelled before it arrived.
Preordered on April 9th.
I was informed on July 13th of my allocation and cancelled on July 17th.
Was supposed to be driving it by end of July.
Once I decided that lack of HDA2 was a big deal to me and all the reports of battery and sensor gremlins, I didn’t feel like being a 1st year pioneer!

For better or worse, they are doing things differently here. If the person who put down the deposit backs out, the car remains the property of Genesis Canada and is reallocated to the next person who ordered that exact spec, regardless of where in the country he/she lives.

It’s meant to treat everyone fairly, but it ignores the fact that a lot of buyers would be happy to settle for another colour combination.

I haven’t gotten my deposit back. The car has been with them for almost a month now.
They just couldn’t sell the car because of the colour combo.

Well I went to my Genesis dealer(Winnipeg), finally decided I was tired of not hearing didly squat from them since my order in April and I knew that they had a performance demo on the lot for the past couple of months. I see the mint blue GV60 just outside the front doors. Arrive at reception of the Hyundai/Genesis dealer and ask for Genesis sales and specifically for my assigned sales consultant/advisor. Reception tells me I need an appointment. I tell her I have a car on order and I just want to see the interior of the car parked 20 feet from her. She goes off looking for someone and tells me no one is available to see me including the sales manager. Can't tell me when they may be back. Offers to leave a message with my advisor, I agree and proceed to go lick the windows of the GV60(just kidding). I check the car out the best I could. Nice exterior metallic paint quality, interior looked nice but honestly I was less impressed with it than the other non EV Genesis offerings on the lot. It definitely looks like you have less rear passenger leg room that in the Ioniq 5.

Ultimately I am really wondering: 1) why they think this level of customer inattention is acceptable even for someone who would be buying a $20,000 car let alone someone dropping 80K.
2) why do I need an appointment to talk to anyone? Does anyone actually work at this dealer? Seems like the local Porsche/Audi dealer is more than happy for me to pop by.
3) why exactly is this car is worth 24K more than my i5 ultimate?
Needless to say my sales advisor has yet to call or email me. I will give them a couple of more days but its not looking good.

I could not agree with you more. I bought mine at Downtown Genesis and while they were happy to have me drop by, over the months between my ordering in February and the car's arrival in July I never heard from them once unless I called and insisted on information.
Since owning my car I have had several questions and Genesis Canada is less than responsive.

I love the car and would buy it again but Genesis is like playing with kids in a sand box.

I just saw and read this interesting article:

I think the 70 mph testing done by Offspec, for example, is much more meaningful. City range is somewhat irrelevant as it would rarely be a concern for a driver, I suspect one would need to drive for more than 12 hours to drain a battery in the city.

It's highway driving where range matters. When asking about range, I suspect most really want to know how far they'll get on a highway road trip before needing to recharge.

i thought the same thing when I looked at the tester, but go for the test drive. I thought it was far more impressive when you are inside and driving it.. I had the same experience in Wpg. Despite putting down a deposit, no one ever called me for the test drive, I had to ask for it. Now that I have my gv60 and the sale is done, the sales person keeps in touch. Go figure.

I got a factory update on my build rank yesterday but I'll post all my rank updates for your reference. I have reservations for both models and it looks like the Advanced is actually moving down the list a lot faster than the Performance.
