  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

Wonder if this is an oversight or a deliberate feature:

With the Child Safety Lock enabled, a curious child (or adult) who pushes the unlock button in the back seat will make the door handles pop out if the car is not in motion (i.e. stopped at an intersection). Luckily they still can’t open the door, but unless you have Auto-lock on Speed activated, you could be driving for miles with the handles popped out.

Can anyone think of a reason why this might be a deliberate design choice? Or is it something that should be fixed in an OTA update?

Latest update to my dc fast charging issue. Had advised that they had determined which module needed to be replaced and that it would be expedited from Korea to Calgary direct with an eta of Sept. 1. I forgot to get them to specify which Sept 1! as they advised today that they are not sure where the module is and were projecting a new ETA of September 16/22😩 At least they did give me an upgraded loaner for my holiday to BC - no Genesis as claim they cannt locate any but rented a 2022 Volvo XC60 from Hertz for me, and a commitment to pay all gas costs!

First question here:

In the insideevs actual range testing the closely related Hyundai Ioniq 5 product scored a full 24% lower range than the published range on 20" wheels (which were much worse than 19" wheels).

My concern is that the GV60 Performance might have quite a low range.

Look forward to hearing real world reports.
Picked mine up yesterday (premium model), 180 mile drive home took 60% battery. Was set on cruise control for 90% of the journey, and eco mode so Acceleration was gentle if the adaptive control slowed it. Looks like it should be good for 300 miles with a steady foot.

That sounds like a decent compromise. Enjoy the trip.

Tough to complain about that...

It seems strange they’d allow this to happen.

If you hit the door lock button afterward do they go back in?

Yes, hitting the door lock button does make the handles retract.

I can see how this might be a useful feature if the car was in Park, or at least not hazardous. But allowing rear passengers to pop the handles when the car is in Drive but stopped at an intersection seems less than ideal.

Ok - so what's the solution for this scenario? I get in GV60 and pulled it out of my garage and into driveway. Car was unlocked but the exterior door handles were not popped open so wife and son couldn't get in. I made sure the car was unlocked by the switch by the door. Nothing. I opened my door and all the handles popped open for them to get in. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, John

I dunno John- I've definitely had that situation where the other doors were locked, but hitting the button on the door always unlocks them for me. I have my doors set to re-lock at speed and to unlock in park. Is it possible that your settings are different and might have caused a conflict if you were in gear?

I don't know for sure. Just strange that they didn't pop back open when I put it in park so my family could get in. But they did pop open when I opened my door.

Thenks. Is that in the settings or a switch in the back door?
Drivers side door switches, look at the last button, it has an image of a "person" this is the child door lock button.

Ok, I went and looked and it was not on.
Let me ask this: as soon as I start to move from park in drive, than handles retract. What conditons makes them pop out again? I am trying to replicate my scenario where I moved from garage to driveway, about 10 feet, and the handles retract but the car is unlocked but the handles didn't pop out until I opened my door.

When you looked at the button was the car powered on?

go to vehicle setup/doors&locks, and choose between available options

I have frequently backed my new GV60 out of my garage into my driveway to my waiting wife and daughter and the handles are still retracted when I stop to let them get in and the car is set to Park.

In this situation the solution is simply a matter of pressing the inside “DOOR UNLOCK“ button on the door armrest and all 4 door handles outside pop open. (Although the door handles should always open whenever the car is shifted into Park). I have to look further in the Setup menu to make sure my settings are correct.

Thank you, that is helpful. That is what I expected but it certainly could have been my user error too. I will again and check settings.

I am unable to lock the doors of my GV60 without the key fob. Use case: someone else unloads the crap out of my car after a long vacation/drive and I go in the house. Normally a person can hit the Lock Door button inside the car to lock the doors, shut the door, and the car is secure. Is that how it works with the GV60 or is mine faulty?
