  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

The Lucid software has been problematic but the ride is superb! But the GV60 is a lot easier for me to get in and out of then the Lucid would have been. I will miss the handling however.

Try starting a case there and see if you get Joseph responding back to you.
If he doesn't respond I can share his number and extension, he's been good about answering.

Interesting about the Samsung as key issues, I've been very jealous (pixel phone owner) and keep waiting for them to add compatibility but I've heard a mix bag of reviews on it. Customer care may direct you to the connected services hotline, I haven't tried reaching out to them yet for my app issues.

I have the same issue with the memory seating in my gv60 and ioniq 5 where it doesn't automatically revert to the memory seat setting tied to profile or key. Luckily it doesn't bother me too much since I can hit the memory seat button but definitely something worth raising as an issue.
Thank you for posting this email address.
I just contacted them about the rear-end(?) shimmy... which my dealer can't or won't fix. We'll see how they respond.

How many days until we get a response?

I have a recent squeak from the rear liftgate (I believe) when going over an uneven road slowly, such as backing out of my driveway ramp.
I have seen a video where the dealer put washers under the rubber guides to adjust for metal contraction due to the cold. I did a search here and didn't immediately find anything here, although the search here is not as easy as it could be and it may be well discussed.
If the hard rubber guides are misshapen or misplaced relative to the change in metal expansion, there should be a better solution than washers.

The worry I have about a metal washer solution is the gap will close when weather warms, so there is the potential another issue will result when the gate attempts to close and the guides are suddenly "too large" (i.e., leave too narrow a squeeze for closure). It seems if something is going to be installed to narrow the gap in winter season, it needs to have some give as well when temperatures warm.

This past autumn I just wrapped a thin layer of felt tape around each guide, which resolved the very mild rattle. Just this weekend, following near daily use, I noticed the felt tape had worn off so I'm going to install another piece on each. While not ideal, it's a 1-minute fix. It'll be fine to do that twice each winter season. No harder than adding windshield wiper fluid.

Sounds like the same "solution" they used for the Kia Stinger. Overall, it did not work.

Hope it helps!
send me the contact info for your guy at genesis. I never got a response back from the email I sent last week and I don't know if i'll get one any time soon. I also wish they would add text when the car is charging to let you know if the charging speed is being limited by the station you are hooked up to (like the lucid air does).

Lots of issues with the navigation on my GV60.

It sent me to the wrong place 4 or 5 times in the past week. It said I have arrived at my destination, then I had to open Google Maps on my phone to find where the destination was, usually within two blocks of where the nav system directed me to.

Today on a long highway drive, twice the nav system told me to do a U-turn when possible (heading west on a highway toward a destination a few hundred km to the west, it told me to turn around and head east) - I ignored it and after a minute it told me the correct route again.

It told me there was no EV charger anywhere near me (while I was standing in front of a 50 kV public charger).

A very bizarre issue when using the voice search for navigation - is says "say the address in Alabama" - it seems to think I am in Alabama, but only for voice navigation search, when I search by typing in a destination it knows that I am in Canada. I searched through all the menus and can't find anywhere listed as a default location - no idea why it thinks I am in Alabama.

I have not set up Android Auto because of the hassle of a USB cord connection - but I guess I will have to. Their navigation / mapping system seems very amateurish. Other than the nav system, I love this vehicle.
Got the same Alabama issue. Does anyone know how to resolve it

Two things to keep in mind:
1) We don’t yet know what the aerodynamics of the GV60 will mean for potential snow accumulation. We’ve seen that the Ioniq seems quite bad, and the EV6 seems a fair bit better. It isn’t clear how necessary one is for the GV60.
2) Market-specific changes are made for vehicles all the time. It would not be unreasonable to expect a rear wiper for North American vehicles.
We know for a fact that the vehicle needs a rear wiper. Driving in snow yesterday in Toronto proved this conclusively This also assumes you could get into the car. The door handles are not designed for Canadian winters. The dealers answer was to put hot water on the handles if you want to get into the car.
Very disappointing that it seems Genesis did no cold weather testing of this vehicle. It mars another wise great vehicle.

If you get a chance to compare to an Ioniq 5 the GV60 is actually pretty darn decent without a rear wiper. The GV60 rear spoiler really helps greatly by keeping kicked up schmutz and snow mostly off. The Ioniq 5 was horrible, I just relented to the fact I would have zero rear ward visibility with any level of precipitation in that car. The door handle thing seems to be a common complaint with any car with powered recessed door handles. I am not sure how they can fix that short of just going to conventional handles or recessed pulls.

Strongly disagree. As others have said snow is a huge problem. Even without snow, needing to manually clean the rear window frequently gets old fast. If they hear enough complaints hopefully they will correct this oversight in the future.

I realize winter has just recently hit Toronto, but we’ve had it for a while in the west, and I’ve driven in some pretty heavy snow conditions on a few occasions.
My experience has been that above the spoiler has been just fine. Below it - an absolute disaster.

Fair enough, just not an issue for me.

Seriously, why not just use side view mirrors? There are plenty of vehicles on the road that drive perfectly fine without using a rear view mirror.

Cannot get push notifications from the updated genesis app on my zflip 4... Actually same goes to the new enel (juicepass) app. Juicepass isn't reachable, genesis "created a ticket". Anybody else? Deleted and uploaded again both, all permissions are given in settings. Frustrating

Perfectly fine? Just last month in our neighborhood a toddler was hit by a box truck backing up. The truck did have a reverse warning horn but obviously the toddler did not understand what the horn meant.

Granted there are plenty of vehicles where it's simply not feasible to have an effective rear window. But on the GV60 it would be so easy to improve rearward visibility with a rear wiper/washer. Yesterday I was backing into a parking space while it was snowing and I needed to get out and double check because not only could I not see out the rear window, the rear camera was also useless because of the road spray.

Not so easy given the split window. You would need wipers like the originals in this ad:
