GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Well well well... looks like i am still going to wait for that car... got told by the dealer (by email) that they are having delay problem... it is a funny fact is that every time i write to Genesis Canada... it is the dealer (i had to select at the time of reservation) who respond. Also... it is actually Genesis Canada who should be answering since... i have made my reservation ON LINE and they (Genesis) own the complete flet of Genesis cars for sale around Canada... the dealer doesnt actually own them... One thing is for sure... i wont buy another one UNLESS it is on the lot... i will not invest another dollar on a car that you have to wait for and cannot get a hold of the real physical responsible... who hides behind the dealer personel...

Yes.. i am frustrated and... with good reason...

Yet last time we exchanged (10 days ago), the car was still "at sea", which I find odd since it became "at sea" on Jan 4th. How long does it take to cross the Pacific???

So..... I'm hoping for a call this week to let me know that it's on a train somewhere between Vancouver and here. But now you got me curious. Let's wait and see if I'll get that call. I'll let you know.

My experience also was that I was not very pleased with communication and lack thereof while waiting for my delivery.

I ordered the very first day the website allowed it (Feb 8, 2022) and received delivery September, 2022.

I'm really happy with the car. The wait was worth it.

I don't know the intricacies of why Genesis Canada is handling sales the way that they do. Unlike any other car that I bought from a dealer or through a dealer the business arrangement was always with the car dealer not the head office.

But the positive effect of Genesis Canada doing it this way is that none of the dealers are able to add additional profit or market adjustment when demand exceeds supply as it has been right from the get-go with this car. (Unlike the United States where historically dealers were adding $5,000 or 7.5 thousand dollars over sticker price, or if prohibited like they might be in some Canadian problems they would only sell the vehicles with a lot of additional and unnecessary accessories added in). There is none of this hanky panky here in Canada.

I know a person who received his car and he ordered after me the same model (performance) and the same interior and exterior colors and we live in the same province.I can tell you that strange things are happening with certain dealers.

I agree ... we are, in a way, in a better position then the US...

Now it is just a matter to have the dealer sing the same song... and i mean.. about the Rank... for me.. its been something like... "i dont know what your talking about..." and for others... they got the Rank in which they are...

Again... i am just a big complainer ...

I can understand this frustration, but I have had mine for 7 months and I am still excited to drive it. In my opinion, it is worth the wait.

Ok so.... got some fresher news.... arrival at dealership is now set for Feb 27th (was Feb 18th). Was informed that it's on a train somewhere on its way here (Montreal). Not sure why/how it was "at sea" for over a month, then on a train to cross this huge country for more than 18 days !!! I guess it's being pulled by mules or something!

I don't really mind as I'm in no rush and will probably push the delivery date mid-March to avoid core of winter altogether.

Got the Vin too today but i canceled my order the gv60 is the best electric car under 80k cad in my opinion but with changes in my life i need a bigger car and i put a deposit for a cx90 gt phev.Enjoy the gv60 i will be back to Genesis with the next generation Ev.

Took a look at the CX90... nice ride... an autonomy of +/- 60kms... but a lot of space... had a Mazda before... really like it... so bad they are behind in the EV world.. for now

If I were not moving to a full electric I would definitely be looking at Mazda. They make a great handling near luxury car. Should be a great car. Only two caveats: (1) you are getting a new car in the first year of production; that is always a risk; and (2) I suspect that the PHEV will be the last to be delivered and you may be looking at 2024 before delivery.

I drove a PHEV (BMW 530e) before trading it in for the Genesis and it was a delight to drive. Enjoy!

I ordered my GV60 Performance May 17th and I got a call a week ago that the car is done assemly in Korea. VIN# was provided and is a 6 weeks estimate to Ontario. Which makes it to end of March.

So roughly 9 months for confirmation of allotment and another 6 weeks to arrive in Ontario.
I was told Performance model is a bit quicker than Advanced as Advanced model is a bit more popular.

Alright..... So.....
Just picked up last night our White over Blue Performance ordered on May 4th.

Almost like a pregnancy... took just a bit over 9 months to get the new baby. We're happy it's finally done. Level 2 charger being installed tomorrow.

Can't wait to drive a bit more!
