  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone tried checking the water level in the Genesis battery? Most batteries have either screw off covers or a pry off cover. I can't figure out how to get into this. Or is it a sealed battery? Just would like to check the level when I change the oil and check other fluid levels. Thanks for any help!

Go to Page 7-28 in your manual:
Battery recharging
Your vehicle has a maintenance-free,
calcium-based battery.
• If the battery becomes discharged in a
short time (because, for example, the
headlights or interior lights were left on
while the vehicle was not in use),
recharge it by slow charging (trickle)
for 10 hours.
• If the battery gradually discharges
because of high electric load while the
vehicle is being used, recharge it at 20-
30A for two hours

Thanks for the info! I guess I COULD refer to the manual, but things there don't seem intuitively organized, plus I've spent most of my time reading the separate manual for the tech package.

Per that separate manual for the tech package. When I first got the car, I tried to read through it, however that manual just causes INFORMATION OVERLOAD! I just would get completly discombobulated. I then decided not to bother reading it. I learned how to use the DIS by the trial and error method. Worked fine and I've learned how to use the darn DIS. Whenever there is something I need to know, or something I want to try, only then will I go into that manual. Things like the various voice commands. (I made a copy of the page with the various voice commands, and I keep it above my sunvisor for when I want to use a voice command, but that is very seldom because I find it is easy to use the DIS knob for everything).

I do read the owners manual though.

I have a 2010 4.6 build date 4/10. The battery looks new it has a sticker on it the has 11/11. does that mean the battery was replaced 11/11?
It says hyundai on the battery. What is the life of a factory battery?
