  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

I’m new to this group and new to Genesis. Spoke with my dealer yesterday in Mississauga and they believe I can pick up my Electric GV70 by the end of this week.
I’m very excited and have enjoyed all of the excellent reviews and information pieces on YouTube.

The controller is the way to go. Touch screens require the driver to divert his/her attention from the road. Was never a big fan of that.

On a separate note, I'm thinking about aftermarket wheels for the eGV70. Not really sold on the smaller 20" wheels that come with the car.
I was thinking 20s were the perfect size and I might even preferred 19s. If range isn’t a concern 21s would also be a good size. I’ll be running 18s for winter.

Wow, that's great. Did you order it the day the order bank opened?
What colour combo did you order?

I really like the 20" wheels on the eGV70. They are one of the nicest wheels I have seen. You will find that going to a larger wheel, will have a slight impact on your ride quality.

I have 20" wheels on both my MB GLC43 (Run flats) and Hyundai Palisade. I run 19" wheels with Blizzacks in the winter on both vehicles and find the ride noticeably better with the 19". Especially on the MB as the Run flats have a stiffer side wall.

I have 21" wheels on the GV70 3.5T and 22" wheels on the GV80. Ride quality isn't a concern for me. I don't believe it's the wheel diameter that affects the range as much as it is the unsprung weight, so I would be looking for ligjter weight 21" aftermarket wheels and using the stock 20s for winter duty.

I'm surprised as I ordered it on March 6th in Mississauga, Ontario - at the same time, I also ordered the ICE version, expecting to receive the 2.5lt this year (short term lease) to trade for a straight purchase Electrified GV70 later in 2024. When I got the confirmation email, I had to look twice. I'd been waiting on a Sportage PHEV and EV6 for months with no assignment in sight. I visited the Genesis dealer on a whim. Lucky I guess. (Sliver on white)

That is surprisingly quick. I suspect Genesis Canada pre-ordered a bunch a cars in various configurations (which is just int/ext colour given the one trim level) and have matched the en route cars with customer orders. Congrats on the fast delivery.

Delivery is set for Thursday afternoon. My guess is that Genesis sent about 500 cars to Canada in various combinations. If they allocate those equally among dealers, perhaps my colour choices were a match with what was available.

For those of you getting your vehicle in the near future, check out the VIN label on the door post. It has the "build date" on the label. It will be interesting to see if some were indeed built before we were even able to order them.

I would think that is a given. I would guess that they wouldn’t wait for specific orders but would want to get as many cars into the pipeline as soon as possible

I can't wait to get mine. It looks like it could be just a matter of weeks now, rather than months.

I was at my dealer (Langley, BC) this morning. No word yet where mine is in the system and the sales manager wasn't there to go on their internal site to check.

They have had 2 more just arrive (total 3 already). The two there today were both silver with white interior. The first one to arrive was white with white interior. I checked the build date on one of them and it was built in January, 2023. So a month before the order banks were officially open. So yes, it seems that Genesis had several built for the Canadian market and if your early selection matched one already built, you will have an early delivery. My colour selection is white with the black interior.

Jaws: How do you get the small box at the bottom of your message to display what you have ordered and what vehicles you currently own? I haven't been able to figure that out yet.

That makes sense. The car I’m having delivered, tomorrow!, Is silver on white. The demo they have in Mississauga is blue on white. I had the chance to drive it and it’s fantastic. My sales rep also took a loop and the car really does perform at speed. I wonder how much of the initial shipment is white interior. It would seem there’s a bunch. Good luck with your order, I hope you get news soon.

Click the white box on the header with the small Genesis logo and then select signature.

The January build date is not a surprise.

Yes. Got it today. It’s better than expected. Easy to drive. Fast, responsive, beautifully finished. The white interior looks great. It’s a soft white, not as harsh or sterile as it looks in some photos on line. All systems work perfectly. Redundant safety features are helpful (BSW appears in mirrors, dash and heads-up). Very pleased.

Congratulations! Post some photos when you have a chance. I've been bumped up to #118 from the original #176. It's like being a kid at Christmas. Lol
